Trattoria Pola — Restaurant in Gonars

A simple place were you'll find the way of cooking and the tastes of our grandmas. We had grilled sea food as starter and hence went for a traditional "spaghetti ai frutti di mare" (spaghetti with sea food" and "polenta e baccalà" (fish). Everything was so delicious!!!! The problem was the quantity!!! Full dishes! Only for eating professionals :D The wine came from Istria, it was a Istrian malvasia (dry) and hence prosecco. No bottles, here wine comes in a jug. Solitamente in questo tipo di ristoranti ci si aspetta dell’ottimo cibo tradizionale e soprattutto un discreta accoglienza e vi posso garantire che la “Trattoria Pola” rispecchia a pieni voti queste caratteristiche, il menu è contenuto ma quello che viene proposto è molto invitante e soprattutto davvero molto squisito. Devo dire che le foto delle recensioni dei clienti lasciamo un po’ a desiderare ma vi posso garantire che di persona è completamente un altra cosa, anche le stesse proporzioni dei piatti portati mi hanno sorpreso, sono veramente abbondanti. Per quanto riguarda l’ambiente siamo stati accolti molto calorosamente , devo dire che è una trattoria molto bella in questo suo stile rustico, ci sono solo piccoli accorgimenti che andrebbero cambiati ma per il resto nulla da dire. Forse per aggiungere solo due piccole critiche , il tipo di pane scelto per accompagnare la cena la ho trovato spesso migliore in altre trattorie e la carta dei vini era molto contenuta. Per concludere : il rapporto qualità prezzo è veramente sorprendente, le porzioni proposte sono davvero enormi e deliziose. Ho pranzato qui proprio questa domenica con la mia ragazza e abbiamo ordinato davvero molte cose, un piatto di carne mista, gnocchi alla selvaggina, una bistecca enorme, piatti di patatine, un insalata, caffè , limoncello, bottiglia di acqua, bottiglia di vino e forse anche qualcos’altro (ora non mi ricordo benissimo) ma abbiamo pagato in tutto solo 60/65 euro in due. What a hidden gem!! My family and I were traveling through Italy and my son’s goal was to have authentic Italian spaghetti. Trattoria Pola exceeded our expectations with the food. Our server was welcoming and patient as she answered all of our questions. We ordered the Ragu and in the words of my son, “This is the best spaghetti I’ve ever had!” This was the first time where our family of 4 could agree on something and the first time where my son was happy to smile for a picture.
