Trattoria da Giggetto — Restaurant in Gradoli

I must have chosen the wrong thing, or it was a bad day for the Chef. The Spaghetto allo scoglio that I ordered had a very fishy odour as soon as it arrived. It was in a tomato salsa, whereas I thought it would have cherry tomatoes. I have had this dish in the past and it tasted very good. This however was very fishy tasting, one mussel was even closed and should not have been added to the plate. When I said I couldn't eat it, I was asked what else I would like, so I ordered the fried calamari as I was very hungry by then. It was very tough, and came with just a piece of lemon, nothing else, and for that, a price of 14 euros, a very uninspiring dish. So very disappointed. I can cook myself better at home. We had driven a long way due to positive reviews on another site. What a super place to have lunch. It is off the beaten track so you will not just stumble into it. It is on a gravel road leading to nowhere, right on the lake. (Even has a simple dock if you want to come by boat) You can park your car on the side of the road. Great view over the lake and a very special menu. If you like fish: this is the place to be. We had various versions of anguilla (eel). The pasta was superb, the anguilla cacciatore so soft and the in umido like I never had before. Ottimo ristorante di pesce proprio sulla sponda del lago di Bolsena. Il locale è molto grande, è situato su una strada privata che porta direttamente alle rive del lago; sarà facilissimo parcheggiare a pochi metri dall'entrata.

E' composto da una sala interna e una veranda che dà sull'esterno, proprio a pochi metri dall'acqua e dai pontili. Suppongo che nel periodo estivo la parte di veranda venga completamente scoperta.

Il menù è molto vasto, c'è grande scelta per tutti i piatti, dagli antipasti ai dolci. Sono predominanti i piatti tipici a base di pesce di lago come il coregone e l'anguilla ma ci sono anche i classici di pesce di mare e anche di carne. Molto ampia anche la carta dei vini, sono presenti i più famosi provenienti dalle varie regioni italiane.

Personalmente ho assaggiato un antipasto misto della casa che comprende coregone marinato al pepe nero, pesce spada affumicato, insalata di mare, polpo con sugo di fagioli e alici marinate. Come primo ho preso delle ottime tagliatelle al coregone affumicato con mandorle, per chiudere una frittura di latteri. Devo dire che tutto quanto è stato ottimo, gli antipasti molto gustosi e freschi; la pasta idem, il coregone che non avevo mai assaggiato è molto saporito.

Da bere abbiamo preso del vino bianco Muller Thurgau, molto fresco e buono.

Il servizio è molto cordiale e gentile, i camerieri oltre che simpatici sono molto professionali e dispensano anche ottimi consigli su quale piatto scegliere in base al fresco del giorno.

I prezzi sono bassi, il super antipasto viene 10 euro, i primi di pesce non superano i 10 euro. Considerando di aver preso un antipasto grande, un primo e mezzo secondo a testa, la bottiglia di vino, caffè e amari per tutti, abbiamo speso 28 euro a testa. Sicuramente un prezzo difficile da riscontrare con una qualità cosi alta in un ristorante di pesce al giorno d'oggi.
