Donnastella — Restaurant in Guardavalle

We were tabled outdoors. It was pretty humid for today I did not feel any breeze. They have indoors as well not many people were inside. I guess it was my fault because I ate before going to Donna Stella. The food came very quickly and I was analyzing that most people around us were getting pizza. When the lobster pasta came out for me I was already stuffed. I paired it with two Coca-Cola‘s. Agua de gas.

Overall very satisfied with the meal. Great atmosphere a lot of people were staring at us probably because we were the only foreigners. Not so much where everyone was like what are you doing here and who are you? It was more like how did you find out about this hidden gem. No troubles. Definitely a different vibe compared to Rome and Florence Firenze.

Super phone. One of the waitresses she knew how to speak English and she explain that you have a first meal than a second meal appetizers and then at the end you are served the pizza. Unfortunately I’ve been eating a lot of pizza every single day on this trip. So I didn’t order any at dinner. It also looks like they have weddings at this venue. Also they have a kids playground. So during dinner you see all the kids just running away from the dinner tables to the playground. Also for you to be prepared some people use a lot of cologne and you could smell it from three tables away. Unfortunately I did not prepare my bottles on the strip but next time...

Posto incantevole, si è sempre mangiato davvero bene e le porzioni quasi esagerate, ma quest'anno (agosto 2022) qui in Calabria o si son fatti tutti furbi, o bhó non mi capacito di come le porzioni si siano "infeltrite" e i prezzi "lievitati". Ma la qualità in generale molto buona. Purtroppo un po' troppi nei nel servizio. Totale disorganizzazione tra i ragazzi che servono ai tavoli, richieste espresse in fase di presa comanda non rispettate. Abbiamo richiesto le polpette di melanzane come antipasto specificandolo e sono arrivate insieme ai 3 primi ordinati, così da rendere e il tavolo (a livello di spazi) impraticabile e le polpette si sono mangiate fredde, perché abbiamo tutti preferito mangiare prima i primi a quel punto. Lo abbiamo fatto presente al momento in cui ci stavano servendo, e ci si aspettava che riportassero le polpette a quel punto dopo aver terminato i primi, ancora calde, invece c'è stato un flebile "ah ci scusiamo" e null'altro! E poi per concludere una vera delusione è stato il loro "cavallo di battaglia" e cioè lo spaghetto cozze e vongole, una vera delusione a 360°. La cosa pazzesca che io non capirò mai, è che quando dopo la classica domanda d'obbligo "tutto ok signori?" sì è fatto presente che NO c'erano stati questi disservizi, e la ristorazione insegna che quando un cliente ti presenta uno o più reclami sia buona abitudine per educazione, scusandosi, offrire qualcosa in segno di rispetto verso al cliente, o con grande signorilità scontare il piatto non gradito o applicare un semplice sconto in arrotondamento di solito al conto. Nulla! Indifferenza più totale, due parole con grandi indifferenza, quasi infastiditi, e avanti il prossimo!!! No! Non ci siamo! Qui si dovrebbe davvero imparare come si tratta il cliente!!! Detto questo, che purtroppo ho ormai preso coscienza con amara rassegnazione che è un male comune sulla costa Ionica, il posto e il cibo in generale valgono il viaggio!!!! Speriamo per la prossima volta!!!! PS: le recensioni dovrebbero dare dare spunto ai ristoratori per apportare quelle migliorie necessarie per anelare a diventare i migliori, mi auguro che nel vostro caso farete cura di questa mia fatta con grande rispetto e affezione nei...

The food is of good quality and roughly on par with the regional average. However, the prices are significantly inflated, making the overall value for money unconvincing. The service is adequate, but the warm Southern Italian hospitality is noticeably lacking.

Another point of concern: one of the pasta dishes on our bill was €2 more expensive than listed on the menu. When we inquired, we were told it might be a “mistake” at the register. However, we had encountered this “mistake” on a previous visit, and other guests have reported similar experiences. Whether this was truly an accident remains questionable.
