Ristorante BorgoRosso — Restaurant in Guardavalle

We stayed at the Borgorosso in July and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed in an appartment that had large rooms, a kitchen diner, air conditioning and a washing machine. We also had a balcony with a view out to sea. We cooked there a few times and had meals on the balcony, it was really pleasant. The restaurant downstairs was really good as well, fresh pasta, massive wood oven cooked pizza's and a bar. They also did breakfast and lunch so you could always get something if you were hungry. It's a short walk along the road to town (about 5 minutes), that has everything else you need and a 2 minute walk to a beautiful beach. The place is quite at night so you need a car if you want to go out dancing or to try other restaurants. They have parking directly outside the hotel. A good find and a would reccommend it to families, couples or a group of friends would want to take time out and...

Abbiamo cenato al BorgoRosso per 3 sere a gennaio di quest'anno. L' ambiente è familiare ma di assoluta professionalità. La prima sera ci hanno proposto la pasta di casa con la carne di capra, mia moglie non ama molto questo tipo di carne ed era un po' perplessa. Su mia insistenza abbiamo accettato la proposta ed è stata una sorpresa fantastica. Pasta buonissima ed il sugo eccezionale, la carne si scioglieva in bocca. Abbiamo bevuto una bottiglia di Cirò Rosso che si sposava benissimo con questa tipologia di portata. A fine cena abbiamo chiesto se, la sera successiva, era possibile assaggiare le loro famose cotolette di alici e la proprietaria, che è anche la cuoca, ci ha detto che avrebbe fatto il posso per trovarle e....il giorno dopo aveva trovato le alici. Ci ha stupito la gentilezza che ci aveva riservato. Le cotolette erano deliziose e abbiano proseguito con i primi, le chitarre con alici e bottarga....il mare è entrato in bocca!!!! Una vera delizia, erano anni che non sentivo questa sensazione. Poi il cameriere, veramente gentile e presente, ci ha consigliato la torta al limone e la crostata, anche queste fatte in casa. E che dire, anche i dolci buonissimi. A fine cena ci siamo messi a parlare con proprietaria ed il figlio, che fa le pizze e ci hanno consigliato di provare anche queste. Per l' ultima cena che abbiamo fatto lì abbiamo provato le pizze, una tipica con la nduja ed una con lo speck (non proprio tipico della zona). L' impasto era croccante, la qualità dei prodotti, compreso lo speck, di alto livello. Che dire, è da oltre 20 anni che andiamo in Calabria, mia moglie ha i genitori che abitano lì, pochissime volte abbiamo trovato un connubio perfetto tra gentilezza, tempi di attesa, rapporto prezzo - qualità e professionalità così elevati.
