Despite terrible reviews, I decided to give this place a shot given a local friend’s recommendation and the appearance of being a popular hotspot on social media. Long story short, this was honestly the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to. To start, it took over 1 hour to be seated. Our group was first directed to a table in the far back corner under a bunch of bushes, feeling removed from the main restaurant and under the blaring speaker, too loud to have any conversation. Once we were sat at an acceptable table, service was incredibly slow. First round of drinks took over 1 hour to arrive to the table and half the drink order didn’t even show up. Appetizers were fair, and came out at-least 30 minutes PRIOR to even receiving the FIRST round of drinks. Mains took an additional hour to arrive after appetizers were finished. At this point it started raining fairly hard, waiters and management refused to open the umbrellas by the table and also would not move us inside, but allowed other tables to move in. The time of main course arrival was 5:30 PM. Our reservation was for lunch at 3:00 PM. Once we asked for the bill they overly inflated it and the price reflected was complete BS honestly. Menu states €20 per 100G of fish. We got 1KG of fish and were charged for 3.2KG. It was clearly not 3.2KG. The cost of our fish was €700. Nonetheless as you can clearly see, this place is terrible and full of scammers.

Really wanted to like this place and look past the reviews but I cannot recommend this place to anyone. When booking the reservation they require a pre-payment of €250 per person. This restaurant is not worth €25 per person. Spend your time elsewhere. This place is a waste of both...

A Travesty in Paradise

My visit to this so-called ā€œrestaurantā€ in La Maddalena was nothing short of enraging. Situated in what should be one of the most tranquil and stunning corners of the Mediterranean, this place somehow manages to obliterate every ounce of peace, charm, and authenticity the setting offers.

Well before even reaching the entrance, any illusion of a relaxing Sardinian afternoon was violently shattered by music—if one can call it that—blasting at what felt like festival-level volume. Imagine pounding, tasteless electronic noise with no connection whatsoever to the surroundings. It was as though someone air-dropped a budget nightclub straight into paradise.

This wasn’t atmosphere—it was a sonic assault. Conversations up and down the coast were drowned out. The sound of waves, the rustling of trees, birdsong—all erased by a wall of noise with the subtlety of a jackhammer.

It was like witnessing tourism at its absolute worst: gaudy, obnoxious, and entirely disrespectful to the land and the people trying to enjoy it. There was no hint of Sardinian culture, no reverence for the location—just blaring chaos wrapped in cheap aesthetics.

Calling it tone-deaf doesn’t go far enough. This place doesn’t simply ignore the spirit of the island—it steamrolls over it with bass drops and bad taste.

Do yourself a favor: stay far away. La Maddalena deserves so much...

That was a joke! It was the most expensive bill we've ever paid in Sardinia with the worst food ever eaten on this island. I do not mind to pay 40 euro for a dish but then it must worth it. But what we ate it would be even a shame to call as Italian cousin. Lobster was uncooked, octopus salad had more tomatoes than octopus or potatoes, the wine was about 10 times more expensive than pirces in a shop. And coperto of 25 euro per person was just a last drop when we checked the bill (and yep they even charged the 4 year old kid). And of course no need to add that when we went to pay we were told several times that the tips were not included in the bill and that we must include some extra. So, 275 euro we were charged for coperto was not enough?! Especially, for the service that I can't say was of expected level. The waiters barely paid attention to us, kept forgetting to add wine or water to our glasses. Ah! And about water! Please, check your bill before paying! We were charged for some extra bottles of water we haven't ordered. God knows how this restaurant can be still operating with the service and food quality to be so low and the prices to be incredibly high. We might come back for the beach but no chance we will be back to...

Extremely beautiful place with an amazing view, however when we arrived we were not given a menu to look at, we were there for a quick drink and ordered 5 coffees as the waitress came to take our order (we had still not been shown the menu). Then we decided to have some Mirto and Limoncello, still having not seen the menu we were expecting to pay higher than normal prices due to the location. However, for 5 espresso and 5 limoncello/mirto for the bill to be €75 is very expensive, especially since we were not even offered a menu (which is common practise in higher end restaurants)... Very disappointed with this level of disrespect we were shown and will not be returning again.

La Scogliera is a very expensive place. It targets the big boats going around Maddalena island and coming from Costa Smeralda. Don't get me wrong. The location is beautiful in Porto Massimo (Maddalena) and the view breathtaking especially if you take the private room (2x the basic Eur10 cover charge/person). The food is OK with a few good dishes. We were 10 and had a decent selection. I had fregola with lobster and tuna steak both of which I would rate 6 or 7 out of 10. But of course the problem is that prices (even avoiding lobsters and "fish of the day") are ridiculously high so on a value for money basis.. I would rather stay on the boat...

A chic and exclusive beach club with beautiful vibes and a stunning boat-only location. The DJ was absolutely on point, creating a great atmosphere throughout the day. šŸ’ƒšŸ¼āœØ Minimum spend is €260 per person, and shisha was €200 – a bit overpriced and honestly not the best quality. That said, the place is really cute and well designed, perfect for a stylish day out if you’re looking for a premium island experience. šŸ›„ļøšŸŒŠ Would return for the ambiance and music, but not for the shisha.
