Great potential, poor execution
We recently visited this restaurant, drawn by its reputation for high-quality aged meat — and to be fair, the ingredients were excellent. The meat itself was top-tier, a truly exceptional product.
Unfortunately, the overall experience didn’t live up to expectations. We ordered our meat rare (specifically bleu), but not only was the cooking completely off, it seemed the staff didn’t even know what "bleu" meant. What we got was medium at best — a real shame considering the price and quality of the cut.
The service was another letdown. Not particularly friendly, especially from the owner, and not very professional either. Despite there being only two small tables occupied, we waited over an hour just to get our food — unacceptable given how quiet the restaurant was.
As for pricing, it felt quite exaggerated: €4 for a cold cappuccino and €7 for a tiny salad portion (a quarter of a tomato and a couple bits of cheese) is just over the top.
In short: amazing ingredients, but let down by poor service and poor execution. A missed...
Read moreUnimpressed. I was here in the fall with a date, and I was highly unimpressed with the food in general. The prices are outrageous and the food itself is nothing special at all. On the front door of the establishment I was laughing because there was a sign that read "No Trip Advisor! Stop fake reviews". At first I found it humorous, but after eating there I understood why people may have been leaving them bad reviews on Trip Advisor. The truth is, it could be a great place. It's nestled away from the city and out in the country, surrounded solely by big rock formations, some brush and a little bit of gravel. The silence is appealing and even the decor inside the little restaurant is really nice and rustic. Unfortunately I've never seen such outrageous prices for a place that is really so humble in appearance. 90 Euro for certain dishes? Really?
Of all the places in town to have a good meal, this is not one of them unfortuantely, and I would not...
Read moreWhat a fantastic evening at "Locanda del Mirto"! I had an amazing time with great friends, warmly welcomed by the wonderful owners, Pino and Sandra. The service was impeccable, with highly knowledgeable staff, but the true star of the evening was the exceptional quality of the food.
I've been a loyal patron for many years, and it has never let me down. This time, I ventured to try something new: FILINDEU pasta. If you haven’t heard of it, do a quick Google search and then head straight to Pino's to taste it. They cook it right in front of you and serve it with a delicate sheep broth. Worried about sheep broth? Don’t be! It was incredibly delicate. A hint of smoked cheese and a robust "Cannonau" wine completed the experience perfectly. Trust me,...
