We have recently returned from a week in Sorrento and visited the resort twice. On the Friday when we arrived it was great. The setup is you pay a fee for the entrance and also a sunbed and use of the facilties. We had a lovely experience here on the first occasion that we decided to visit again on the Monday and that's when it turned sour. The plan was to also have lunch there too to make a day of it. We turned up paid the fee for sunbeds etc and settled in for the day. Our ten year old son had a bit of a accident with his big toe, I asked at the front desk for plasters ( think it was the boss of the establishment ) and she gave me a couple then we had lunch ( which was quite pricey ) then returned to the beach whereupon our son needed more plasters. I asked the attendant ( young Sri Lankan chap who was so nice and helpful ) if he could get me some. He returned very apologetic and said I needed to ask myself so I approached the same lady at the reception desk who didn't want to talk to me and sent me to someone else where I was told 'No..we have already given you some so you have had your lot'. I was shocked and and even more as it was for a child. It also upset me that we had spent the best part of 200 euros during our two visits and to be treated like this was absolutely shocking. I took a walk to the hotel at the top of the entrance to La Marinella and they were more than happy to help. I walked past the rude lady on reception waving the plasters in her direction. This awful episode ruined the whole experience and we...
Read moreIt was going to storm and the owner didn’t want to let us in at first because of safety concerns but the very nice lady (maybe manager) let us in anyway. We were sat upstairs at a very nice big table and had a nice view at the thunder storm. The side was closed after a while since it became very windy and opened again after the storm passed. The waiters greeted us very nicely and we were offered a welcome drink! They were so nice and made us feel like royals, you weren’t even allowed to pour your own drink which I thought was very fancy. The bathroom was also very fancy. The prices were really really good for the service and location. The waiters explained every food detail and we also got appetizers and dessert! on the house (see the pictures). The cocktails were incredible and I really liked the small details on the table. The food & dessert was also really good and we were both very satisfied. But because the storm hadn’t completely stopped we decided to take another drink and cheese mix. The cheeses were also very nicely plated but unfortunately our phones died so we don’t have any pictures, but they gave us both the chance to charge them! They were so polite and let us have the chance to ask questions without forcing us to take anything or choose anything. Really a 10/10 experience. We didn’t have to spend much but we wanted to! I think it was the best experience and customer service we have ever had!...
Read moreLa Marinella is an authentic pearl that you could find next to the marina of sant'agnello. Before going to dinner, do yourself a favor and enjoy the fantastic view you have to the port of sorrento and the incredible sea.
After your entry, the Staff is incredibly professional and friendly. Any one of the hosts, like Sara's example, will welcome him with open arms.
The staff in the room, the best you can find in sorrento. With creative and dynamic menus, they seek the best of their gastronomy to please the customer. Get ready for an incredible taste experience. That started well and will end even better. Leaving to the end an incredible dish prepared by the pastry chef Antonio. Chef Antonio prepares each piece with extreme precision. Each element of the dish is as good alone as accompanied. There is a clear concern to find a balance between the elements of the dish. The dish that was served was the classic example of respect for the culture of sorrento. One in which the King was the Lemon. Where the lemon curd, the lemon mouse, the crumble and the small chocolate strands made perfect sense. As I mentioned, each of them individually was incredible, however, when together they transcended, without any of the flavors prevailing over the other, but rather united in one of the best lemon zest that I have ever eaten. Taste, texture and...
