One of the few restaurant establishments in Biassa. It is very busy Sunday evenings, but the rest of the week it is pretty slow.
There seems to be only one wait staff on hand that speaks a bit of English but he seems very off put to serve my boyfriend and I both times we were there. The bus boy on the other was a delight even though his English was limited. I was also off put by the fact that the locals were offered a daily special board, only in Italian, and observed the tourist patrons were only offered the menu. But this occurrence didn't only happen here but other restaurants in La Spezia as well. Just a bit sad that they automatically assumed I don't communicate in Italian.
Although we weren't able to enjoy the specials of the day their menu items were a delight. A bit saltier than I would like but that is my own palate. The pesto here is a delight but the pasta was soaked in a pool of oil, good for dipping the bread with. The panigacci is a...
Read moreThe food is solidly good. But be careful - the owner (bald and tattooed) treated us like dirt. You get the plates slammed down like I personally wouldn't even throw food at a dog's feet. The dislike towards non-Italians is very noticeable. In addition, we are charged for things that we definitely didn't order, resulting in a price of €50 per person (I'm happy to pay that - but then it has to be worth it). Sorry, no matter how good the food is. This guy is anything but a cordial host. The bad comments about him are definitely justified. He will probably reply and deny everything. It's a shame, because basically everyone in this place is friendly. But there always has to be a black sheep. And just to let you know - that’s NOT a fake comment. We’ve been...
Read moreThese people shouldn’t even get one star. I showed up at 9 pm and got turned away and was told the kitchen was closed and that they were full. The place wasn’t even half full! I’d just showed up from a 4 hour train ride from Rome and I was so hungry. Oh, and it was Saturday night. Ridiculous.
They definitely close at 12 am because I asked the bartender and she said yes. So for 3 HOURS you’re not serving food in a restaurant? She couldn’t really rationalize them “closing”. Got it.
The guy took one look at me when I entered and shook his head at me. Maybe this restaurant is allergic to money. Or...minorities. Or maybe it’s just Cinque Terre lol don’t waste your time people of color, go to Tra Monti e Mare right across the street for some...
