I recently had the pleasure of dining at Coccodrillus Pizza-restaurant in the charming coastal town of Isola Rossa. Here’s my experience:
Location and Atmosphere:
The restaurant is situated right next to the beach.
The outdoor seating area is surrounded by tamarisk trees, creating a relaxed and inviting atmosphere.
It’s a great spot to enjoy a meal with friends or family.
Multilingual Service:
The staff at Coccodrillus were attentive and efficient.
They provided multilingual service, which made communication easy for visitors from different backgrounds.
Pizza Selection:
I tried two pizzas during my visit: the Pizza Frutti di Mare and the Pizza Gallurese.
The Pizza Frutti di Mare was topped with a delightful mix of deepfrozen seafood, including shrimp, mussels, and calamari. The flavors were well-balanced, and the crust was thin and crispy.
The Pizza Gallurese, a local specialty, featured a combination of cured meats, cheese, and aromatic herbs. It was hearty and satisfying.
Quality and Price: The pizzas were of regular quality, neither exceptional nor disappointing. Considering the location and the overall experience, the prices were reasonable.
Overall Impression: Coccodrillus is like a fabric and potentially pleasant place for families with children.
While the pizzas didn’t blow me away, the picturesque setting and friendly service...
Read moreThe worst €51 I ever spent. The waiter was very arrogant and was angry when I order the 3rd pizza. He asked why I didn't order it before. By then, my children started arguing and the whole mood was killed. I had to ask for the olive oil when the 3rd pizza arrived. As not even the basic like salt and pepper he brought to the table. I'm glad the waiter did get offended this time. The check had to be paid at the till. I stood there for several minutes while the lady was talking to the waiters, giving them orders. The guy from the Icecream came to give me the bill. I was charged €5 for 2 waters that were refilled who knows where. I asked if that was correct as I saw on the menu the water for €1.5. The till lady that was ignoring me before, stopped chatting just to rubbing in my face the price on the menu. After pointing the price, she just threw the manu on the counter and left. I had to pay to the ice cream guy which pulled the receipt from the machine and threw it on the counter and also left. Such a rude people. If they have a problem, please don't take it on...
Read moreSo, a little context. We arrived around 9:30pm, tired from a long day and just wanted to eat something nice and quickly. The last part was the trickiest bit. We waited for half an hour to make our order, only after we got up and wanted to leave, at which point the staff started catering for us (the restaurant was quite full, outside especially, we we’re inside). We tried to make our order earlier, but it needed to be with one specific staff member (which when we did was very nice). Then we waited for another half an hour for the food to come (at this point we already had the drinks and some bread). The food itself was tasty, but it did vary content wise among the group (we all ordered something with seafood, and some got mostly the shells, and others got a little bit more than that). To sum it up, the quality is ok, definitely overpriced for the quantity served and for the service (if you have a big restaurant you need to be staffed accordingly, a packed house shouldn’t be reason for unreasonable...
