We had dinner at this restaurant with my partner and our 3-year-old daughter. We hadn't booked but that wasn't a problem because the restaurant was far from full (8:30 p.m.). We were actually on the terrace, which has a very pretty setting. A server took our order about 10 minutes later. A Milanese escalope for our child, and sea bass (fish of the day by weight) for us. Our child's dish arrived relatively quickly (about 15 minutes) and the escalope was good. That's when things got complicated:

  1. When you take a fish by weight, the least you can do is present/show the fish and give the customer an approximate weight. That wasn't done and the surprise came with the bill.
  2. We were served at 10 p.m....yes 10 p.m., almost 1 hour 20 minutes of waiting for a fish. We started to contact the server, then the manager after 45 minutes of waiting.
  3. The fish arrives, it is good, nothing to say. But new surprise, the accompaniments that had been specified by the server were not all present. The fish was indeed served with small tomatoes and olives while the waiter had also specified potatoes. To make it clear, there were nothing else than the fish.
  4. Note that there is no dedicated server (no zoning) which necessarily causes disorganization
  5. we asked 3 times for a glass of wine and a scoop of ice cream for our child. The scoop of ice cream came after 15 minutes of waiting (obviously very long to prepare...) and the glass of wine never arrived...never, surreal.
  6. We decided to leave the restaurant without having dessert given the late hour and the context. So we went to pay the bill and there, surprise, the bar was billed to us almost 110 euros...yes 110 euros. If this had been specified to us before (approximate weight of the bar), which honesty would have required, we would have taken something else. 110 euros to share a bar, without accompaniment is still not cheap.
  7. Finally, note that no commercial gesture (offering the child's ice cream for example) for 1h20 of waiting for the main course, this is not acceptable. We do not recommend this restaurant at all, very poorly organized and dishonest. 1 star therefore, for the setting and the...

MY BIRTHDAY RUINED !!!! I booked online and physically with the restaurant manager a table for my birthday the day before. I wasted my time to come on day before to plan that everything would be perfect. We come at our reservation time and the table was already occupied, I waited for it to be ready, ok, not a problem. Of all the restaurants in Sardinia that I went to for 2 weeks, I chose this one to celebrate my special day but IT WAS RUINED. the waiter was old, he messed up absolutely all the orders, we ordered a prosecco he brought a completely different one, instead of the pasta ordered he brought other ones, instead of a grilled platter he brought 2, when we replied that that's not what we ordered he shouted loudly, well this is better, the empty plates stayed on the table until we asked him to pick them up from the table, he overturned the glasses. It was total chaos. I reserved a plate of sweets with candles in advance, because it's a special day so that there are actually no sweets prepared, I didn't receive any respect for my birthday. We didn't get to dessert and we didn't receive that beautiful HAPPY BIRTHDAY, because our patience was broken. we went to the administration from which we didn't receive any apology, we're sorry. Because I cried on my birthday and you ruined my day, I want an official apology, which I never received, like some cowards you all hid and sent a poor waitress, who didn't even have any contact with us, seeing that I was crying hysterically, very respectful and the only one who understood...

So to really know if a restaurant is good or not you should visit it two times. Our first experience was amazing, great service, great food and a fantastic view from the table outside. That’s why we booked it a second time. Although, the second time was a disappointment. Firstly, we’ve booked a table outside but when we arrived all the tables were set inside “because of rain” that could happen (it never did, it was sunny when we arrived). Secondly, the service this time was very poor. We had to wait a long time for everything. Thirdly, many things were finished on the menu which was also a disappointment. However, the pasta we ordered was nice but the second dishes not. The tuna was completely overcooked and dry. Not to mention we had to wait to get the cutlery for 5 min before we could start to eat. Lastly, the dessert on our first visit (the cheesecake with salted caramel was amazing) but they didn’t have it tonight and therefore we tried another dessert, a kind of cake with mango on top, but it was not nice. So overall, not a very nice experience tonight. Unfortunately, we feel disappointed and will probably not come back for...

Upon entering Geranio Restaurant, one is immediately captivated by the stunning view and elegant atmosphere. Fresh lobster displayed at the entrance sets a tone of anticipation for a memorable dining experience. Atmosphere and Ambiance: The venue exudes charm and offers an enticing view that promises a unique dining occasion. The decor and ambiance are undoubtedly inviting. What We Ordered: We opted for what can be considered the quintessence of Italian cuisine: cappuccino, tiramisu, and gelato. The Experience: Unfortunately, the food and beverages did not live up to expectations. A good cappuccino and tiramisu are fundamental indicators of an Italian restaurant’s quality. Regrettably, the cappuccino was undrinkable, and the tiramisu lacked any discernable flavors beyond an overwhelming sweetness. Overall: While Geranio scores high in terms of ambiance and initial impressions, it falls dramatically short where it truly counts: the food. The quality of basic Italian staples like cappuccino and tiramisu should be non-negotiable, and on this front, Geranio disappoints.

Lovely restaurant that we stopped at for lunch on the way to Costa paradiso. It's situated on a hillside with a lovely view across the hills to the sea, you can sit in the terrace or inside but you get the view either way. The food was really good, a bit over priced though so not a quick, cheap stop off (it cost the equivalent of £115 for 4 of us, 1 shared starter, 4 mains, water, 2 soft drinks a coffee and 1 icecream). But it was really, really nice, we had the mixed seafood starter that was yummy, mains were rissotto, 2 pasta dishes and crispy seafood - all were so good! We didn't have the pizzas but we saw other people's and they were huge and also looked nice. I dropped a few stars as the service was quite slow and we had to ask for the same thing a few times more than once, but staff were friendly and helpful. Go here for the view and good food but don't be in a rush.

We ate very good at Il Geranio. A neat restaurant with nice terrace/view on the sunset. The staff is friendly albeit a bit slow. But that matches the Italian culture. Friendly guys. We did feel the restaurant is a bit big with only three serving. I've read some negative reviews beforehand and yes, when it is very busy, we reckon it will take some time before you will be served. Nonetheless, we had a great starter (antipasto, sour sardines) and we recommend as primi: 'Spaghetti Di Zhuginne'. Vegan spaghetti, very refreshing 'spaghetti' from courgette. Very nice and not as heavy as the usual pasta. The tuna (tonno) as a main was awesome, together with a okay pizza. The prices were fine for the quality. All in all a good meal and evening here!
