Maya_Restaurant_Pizzeria — Restaurant in La Trinitai e Vignola/Trinità d'Agultu e Vignola

Around noon we got hungry and found this resturant with a great view over the beach. This large restaurant was empty so we wrongly got excited that we would eat soon after a whole morning of swimming. We were seated and after 10 minutes we still hadn't received the menus so we took ome ourselves. Drama!!! We were confronted by an arrogant waiter who explained in a nervous fashion that for our information, in a restaurant, you are to wait for your menus. Considering the late arrival of the menus and his tone, in a basically empty restaurant i really wanted to give him a replica but we were looking at eachother in disbelief thet this was even possible. It didn't end there though, we were further doomed to remain hungry. Tiny superexpensive appetisers and had to wait other 35-40 minutes to receive the pasta: spaghetti with exactly 2 shrimps in it and and fish ravioli in a lemon-carrot sauce. Ridiculous small portions both and standard tasting. In the end, after 3 failed attempts to pay by card, we gave up and paid in cash which we almost did not have anymore. A tourist trap, stay away from it.

My wife and I were hungry after swimming nearby and we wanted to go at the restaurant underneath this one, because they had some nice drinks on the menu and there were many people out there. Unfortunately they didn't have a varied food menu and that's how we ended up at Maya. Big mistake that was.

The red flags showed up from the beginning when there was only a family eating in the big dining area (at lunch time in mid-July), while the waiters were very rude and disrespectful and hardly speaking any English.

The food was sub-standard, little and pricey. Moreover, none of their POS's worked at that time, forcing me to go and withdraw some cash to pay for the whole meal. I am always generous in tipping because I believe waiters deserve a decent overall salary, even though sometimes their service is not their best ( we all have our bad days). But it was the first time in more than 5 years I didn't tip at all and I had no remorse whatsoever in not doing so.

We went in hoping that the bad rating was just a misunderstanding, but unfortunately our laster dinner in Costa Paradiso was a real disappointment in this restaurant.

We started off fine, but when we finished our first course and drinks, we waited for over half an hour for the main course to arrive. Had to chase the server to get new drinks.

One of the main courses ordered was steak, but when orderding, no one asked readiness level of it. We received a badly overdone steak that was literally burnt on one side. We did not ask for another one, because we didn't want to waste our last night waiting more on another one.
