My wife and I had the wonderful opportunity to try Chef Carmine’s creations at his wonderful Lanciano restaurant “Brace restaurant.” The flavors he brings to the area shows how well traveled & how talented this chef truly is . It is an exceptional talent to be able to capture the flavors of ones travels & experiences. We began this culinary journey with a wonderful amuse bouche to set the pallet followed by a roasted eggplant dip and fresh arabic bread with a house za’atar seasoning . Everything is prepared in an open kitchen with food being grilled over coals Or roasted in their wood oven. We had a beautifully baked cheese caciocavallo with tomato & onion. additionally we enjoyed the wood oven baked zucchini with labneh, dukkah & topped with pomegranate (A favorite of my wife’s). We decided on a degustazione of meats from Canada to share with some delicious roasted potatoes in a yogurt, herb & leek oil sauce that was absolutely delicious . For dessert we enjoyed a grilled white peach with poppy seed gelato , which was so wonderfully put together with fresh thyme. This chef knows his flavors and knows balance, which was apparent from the first bite to the very last. Lanciano is lucky to have such a skilled Chef who brings new and exciting flavors to traditional dishes, it is truly a thing of beauty. Keep up the amazing work chef ! We can not wait to enjoy more of your seasonal creations. Do not hesitate...
Read moreWe were met by very nice friendly and accommodating staff. The restaurant has a pleasant minimalistic atmosphere that radiates cooking and the prospect of pleasant evening. Sandra, our hostess, fluent in English, was quick to explain how they work, what their history is, what brings this restaurant to Abruzzo and what the options for appetizeres apart from the menu are for the evening. We were offered four options and we chose all four, not being able to agree on a selection, to share amongst the table. All starters were amazing. Even the bread was wonderful. Local Abruzzese ingredients and no lack of a sound taste in any of the dishes. Well balanced and each a perfect combo. Burrata Bottarga Salicornia; Asparagi Pancetta, Prosciutto di Anatra and Gregoriano. For the main dish there was a wide range of world wide beef options to pick from, we selected two meats and again to share. The advice and detailed description of our hostess was highly appreciated. We selected Vitello di latte Hollandaise and Danish crown cooked to perfection by the chef with some lovely and tasty sides. Plenty of wines to select from. We opted for Praesidium 2019 and Rosso della Rosa, 2019 both Local Montepulciano, well worth every cent and in our opinion a good match for the food. Finishing off with Sbriciolona Mela Noci and Semi Freddo cafe Kumquat. A wonderful evening and last but not least the price/quality...
