We decided to go away from Cefalu as most restaurants there appear to be tourist traps, it was the best decision we could have made.
We wanted to order pasta with lobster as we'd seen positive reviews but unfortunately they'd ran out of lobster so we decided to try other dishes. Every main course we had was amazing, we tried pasta da Piero, Mari e Monti, da chef, ravioli with shrimps and grilled shrimps.
We were surprised with the large portions and the amount of the seafood in our courses, where every bite had the perfect amount of seafood with pasta.
The one thing we didn't particularly appreciate was the spaghetti with the sea urchin which didn't have much of the urchin and tasted like macaroni with shrimp water. Not a big deal for us as we'd ordered one plate for 6 people out of curiosity.
The restaurant was almost full when we came but the staff managed to take care of us reasonably quickly.
With how delicious our main courses were and the reasonable prices (10-20 euro for a first course, good luck eating the second with how big the portions are), this restaurant is a definite gem in the...
Read moreLargely favored for local people, they won’t hesitate to bait you and tell you wrong time estimations for waiting. To illustrate this, we wanted pizze to take away : they told us to wait firstly 20 minutes, we came back 30min after that, to see further 15min additionnal waiting time, and finally an other 10 for a total of 1h and socks. You don’t even count after that time, for 6 poor (in taste and amount) pizze that would be litterally better at the supermarket. The pizze menu is thiner than it was 2 years ago and they were not what I paid for.. the pizza dough was way too soft and not crispy at all (like it was warmed in the microwave in precipitation), not to mention the extreme amount of salt on my Isola Bella that burned my mouth, the mozzarella really plastic-like,… etc I wouldn’t have written this salty comment if you’d have, at the very least, applogized when giving the pizze. Not...
Read moreThe food was good to decent actually. I liked the salmon pizza with pistachios on top and their ravioli. The mood and vibes were good as well. The staff seemed nice too. The things I cannot get over with though are firstly that 1L of Mineral water, which costs 3€, tastes a lot like tap water and secondly is that after wanting to pay and having a roundabout nice experience, some undisclosed prices and sums started to appear. One of which was I think a Cutlery fee, could be a bad translation but still. After asking why and saying I have never seen anything like this, I was pretty dissatisfied with the answer I got, which was that it's supposed to be normal in Italy. I can comfortably say that I have been to a lot of restaurants to all across Italy and I have never seen anything like this. I wouldn't mind if they just disclosed it from...
