Do not go here. Complete and total lack of customer service. The staff is unfriendly and they do not care about their customers. Decent food, nothing worth writing home about. The pasta with sausage and truffles was the only outstanding dish. What made our experience especially poor was the extremely bright military lights than shone directly onto our table blinding us. Not sure why they have these on, seems like there is more than enough lighting on the patios outside to be sufficient. The bright lights ruined the atmosphere and our dinner. We left as soon as possible. Also due to excessive mosquitoes. We had to go inside to ask for the bill, no one came and then we had to go back inside to ask to pay. We mentioned the lights ruined our dinner and the woman/ manager became argumentative instead of apologizing. She asked where we were staying and if it was at Il Borro across the street. When my partner said yes she said “oh ok then I understand.” As if staying at a nice place reduces the authenticity of our complaint. If you want quality food at extremely reasonable prices try Osteria del Vino only 5 minutes away. That place seriously impressed us. It’s extremely causal but honestly the best food we had in Tuscany (steak,...
Read moreI only ever feel the need to write reviews when a place baffles me. I honestly can’t believe 2 out of our party of 4 didn’t eat and we were getting berated by our waitress like we did something wrong. Two of us ordered soups as an appetizer, and then each a meal. The soups came out with half of the meals all at once. 45 minutes later 2 people in our party still did not have their main course. One of them did not even order a soup so had not eaten the entire time we had been there, and had simply ordered a pizza. Meanwhile in these 45 minutes about 20 pizzas were served across the restaurant and countless meals as well. Finally we had enough and ask where the other half of our meals are. And our waitress starts arguing with us like we did something wrong. “You ordered too much food.” 2 soups and 4 meals, for 4 people. That’s it. Yeah too much food, got it. Besides the point one of our party has not eaten the entire night and only ordered a pizza while you have served 20 different pizzas around us! And our waitress is still arguing. We asked for the check and left. And to top it off she has the audacity to ask us our name so she can complain to our hotel about US! Absolutely...
Read moreWe were referred to this Italian restaurant as one of our first places to eat upon arriving Tuscany. My daughter had ordered a pasta dish and was not able to finish all of her meal. She gave me what she was unable to finish. I quickly noticed that there was a long metal shaving mixed in with her pasta. I summoned our waiter over to have a look. He was very apologetic and said he will get the owner/manager over to have a look. A women soon came to our table and seemed annoyed that we would call her to our table to show her this foreign body inside my daughters food. She became argumentative and said "sure, that's because we wash our pans with a metal scrubber" as to justify why this was in her food. I exclaimed that was unacceptable! She didn't bother even removing the cost of the meal from our bill. We were the only patrons in the restaurant at the time - symbolic of the poor quality of food...
