Cantina Da Mario — Restaurant in Latisana

This spot tucked outside of Latisana, Italy is so special in every way. We dined outdoors along with many locals. The atmosphere was festive and charming and the kind of place where you wouldn't want to be anywhere else at that moment. The food was stunning, both in presentation and flavor. I loved the Celeriac Carpaccio and look how pretty the anchovies are. The local wines were beautiful as well. This restaurant is an absolute gem. The quality of food is that of a fine dining restaurant, but the surrounds and staff are so friendly and casual that the whole experience is a complete pleasure. We stopped by without a reservation on a Wednesday evening, to find the place fairly busy - this was in May, so I would imagine bookings are required for the summer time. Siamo tornati da Mario! Da un bel po di tempo che non ci spostavamo in quella zona e quindi abbiamo prenotato. Posto sempre Incantevole, piacevole e molto curato. La cucina non è più quella che ci aspettavamo, quella di Mario, ma quella giovane , di un proseguio, comunque familiare. La proposta della cucina e adesso molto sofisticata, tante salse( soprattutto carota) e i piatti diventano difficili da ordinare , perché con troppe sofisticazioni oppure, secondo me , fuori zona. Ho mangiato delle buonissime alici marinate in mezzo ad un sacco di salsine e invece del solito ma ottimo crostino di pane, c'era una .... foglia bianca priva di croccantezza e sapore.Di primo, anche se ne vado pazzo , non ho potuto ordinare nulla, oltre a gnocchi con porcini, cjarsons ( se li volevo andavo in montagna) non ho trovato nulla che mi facesse venire l'acquolina in bocca. Da Mario un tempo l'antipasto di pesce e un tagliolino di pesce erano il top!Buono tutto, ma onestamente molto spettacolare ma privo di consistenza.....sicuramente siamo stati noi le bestie nere, vecchi abituati ai soliti ma gustosi e sazianti menù. Prezzo sopra le righe ma l'ambiente e la simpatia di Mario li valgono tutti.
