This has been an amazing insight in the real Italian culture. The people at this hotel are extremely friendly, they really go out of their way to help you out. We arrived in the middle of very heavy rain and needed to find a car with driver. They all helped out and we found Fely, a young local who was fabulous, kind, knowledgeable and charged very reasonably. The internet is free and works very well. At the hotel, the food was simple home-cooking and top quality. The owner lady came to have a chat with us often, and even drove us to the station herself when it was time to leave and the taxi would be late. Another guy drove us in his car to a local shop to get an adaptor… The hotel is surrounded by the looming mountains providing an amazing alpine backdrop with a fascinating and tragic history surrounding the Vajont Dam disaster in 1963. I highly recommend this place for a real taste of...

Ci siamo fermati a pranzo,visto che eravamo di passaggio. Il posto é molto all'antica,arredamento e tendaggi vecchi,ma su questo si puó sorvolare. Ordiniamo 2 piatti della casa e una tagliata di scamone piú un contorno di funghi misti. Da bere vorremmo birra alla spina come riporta il menú,ma non é disponibile,e il cameriere ci invita a ordinare birra in bottiglia,e cosí facciamo,scegliendo una Weitzen media,che poi quando arriva,non é altro che una Franziskaner Naturtrub,tra l'altro calda,e pagata 5€ (ricordo che in supermercato costa 0,90 €,e i ristoranti la pagano la metà...).

Và bene,aspettiamo i piatti.

Dopo 20 minuti circa arrivano le ordinazioni,e subito mi stupisco della tagliata,qualificabile in numero 9 (nove!) straccetti di carne,lunghi 4 centimetri,e larghi mezzo centimetro,stracotti e duri da masticare,messi incrociati,sopra a una montagnetta di rucola,come a dimostrare che la quantità sia maggiore.(la vedo come una presa per i fondelli,visto che la tagliata costa 13,50€)

Il contorno di funghi misti,é buono,ma i funghi navigano nella loro acqua,sul piattino...sembrano appena svuotati da una scatoletta.

Gli altri due piatti "della casa",sono formati da una fetta di "pastin",una carne tipica della zona simile ad una salsiccia aperta,una fetta di formaggio fuso (lo schiz) funghi e polenta.

Non sono male,tranne la polenta molto insipida e "secca".

Ordiniamo due caffé,da 1,30€ l'uno (neanche fossimo in un rifugio a 2500 mt),ed ecco che arriva il conto.

21€ a testa (in tre persone),decisamente troppo viste le porzioni.

Una nota a margine per la pulizia dei bagni,inesistente,e dei termosifoni nelle scale per arrivare al piano interrato,con cumuli di polvere grossi come un pugno,segno che non li puliscono da minimo 10 anni...
