It was a toss-up between 3 and 4 owls for this place. But 3 is "average", and that's not a good word for this place. Good location in Piedmont region, beautiful setting and charming, whimsical vibe. But, why did the guy in charge start up a tablesaw while my husband and I tried to enjoy a glass of wine and lovely sunset? I mean, this couldn't have waited? The ladder up to the bedroom loft of the lavender room is STEEP. OK for us, but I don't know how my parents would have felt about it, and in any case, I'd use the potty before tucking in for the night. You don't want to try that trip half asleep. Bed was super comfy, once you got up there, though. Critters in the rafters (outside) and could hear our neighbors in the yellow room (just laughter). So, this place isn't perfect, but it is really charming. I only ate at the restaurant (didn’t stay at the accommodation) but wow, what a wonderful find!!! We had the most incredible food here. Michelin-star quality and presentation yet really great value for money. Service was superb too! We didn’t speak much Italian but we were met with only warmth and friendliness. Our waiter spoke good English even though he didn’t feel that way - we really appreciated that he did for our sake. Loved the romantic yet rustic ambience of the place and great wine selection. I was surprised no coperto was charged. Didn’t realize it until we got home. Really appreciated the glass of Prosecco and aperitif that was served on the house. Will definitely be back when I’m in the area again! Highly recommended for authentic Italian food...
