CuCumiao — Restaurant in Lu Palau/Palau

There aren’t enough words to describe how AMAZING this place is. We dined here last night, after reading all the great reviews (many from Italians, which is always a good sign) and have to say this place surpassed our expectations! If you find yourself in the Palau area, you MUST come here but be sure to make a reservation ahead of time. It’s a popular spot, and complaining about this place simply because no reservation was made is unacceptable. Everything from the service to the quality of the food was outstanding. One of the owners personally helped serve us and he was nothing but wonderful! Please come here, and ask the waiters what they suggest - the food is without a doubt exquisite and perfect in every way.

If you've been recommended to this place, do not follow the advice, I think it's what every other tourist is told. I had the Caprese salad, it had to be one of the worst I had. In terms of the food, extremely mediocre. The service slow as well, in a space where 125 people could eat, there was only 2 waiters, consequently we waited for 45 minutes just to have the starters. Afterwards, I made the horrid mistake of ordering another dish, the vongole spaghetti, it took another hour. Afterwards, you have to make a line to pay, as if you were in the butchery. In summary we had 6 dishes, it took 3 hours, amazing experience. I, to this day, have no idea how this place is still on business and has so much people.

The food was absolutely fantastic! The best meal we had during our holiday. My family had the tenderloin steak, ravioli, Sardinian pasta and ribeye strip steak. It was all amazing (best tenderloin steak I’ve ever had, cooked to perfection!). The desserts were excellent too. Restaurant is 5 mins drive from Palau where we were staying. I would have driven a lot further to visit this place. We had a table on the terrace with a view of the mountains as a backdrop which was beautiful. The staff and service was first class (The Sardinian people are so friendly). The waiters were very attentive. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone. When we come back to Sardinia we will definitely make another reservation here (it gets busy so make sure you reserve in advance so you are not disappointed). 5 stars....
