We learned about Vipore restaurant when we did a wine tasting over at Tenuta Adamo winery. Our tour guide Giulia recommended the restaurant, and we are so thankful. My wife and I have done traveling all around the world and have made some amazing memories; but Vipore is very easily one of the top 2 or 3 dinning experiences we’ve ever had.

Let me set the scene. It’s a cool evening, it’s golden hour, and you walk towards the back of Vipore and are welcomed by incredibly friendly hosts who take us to our table that is overlooking a beautiful green field. There’s candle lighting, families sitting laughing enjoying life and just having the best time. This is exactly what we walked into.

Not only was the ambiance perfect, the service was superb. Vipore’s owner was so welcoming as were all the staff. We were given bread and local olive oil with balsamic vinegar and Tuscan spring water and shortly after we ordered the house red wine, also superb, we’re pretty sure it was from the local wineries as everything was fresh and delicious. Our food was so good, my wife got the rabbit pasta which we are told is a local dish in Lucca and my wife really enjoyed it, especially it being something a bit different.

From start to finish it was the perfect evening. Vipore is literally the epitome of Italian hospitality, and we are so happy to have stumbled upon this restaurant. Please please, do yourself a favor, stop by make a reservation and go spend several hours there, take in the food, the wine, the ambience enjoy your family. Thank you Vipore, we will 100% be back and can’t...

A hidden gem in the hills around Lucca, amazing view and delicious food. The restaurant is not very easy to find, especially since some GPS navigators don't have the correct address, and phone reception on the way is almost absent. Anyway, the street is pretty easy and it's almost impossible to get lost: keep going and you'll get there :) When we arrived we were amazed by the quietness and the view on the city. We decided to stay outdoor, and fortunately we had some mosquito repellent as there were a lot! Everything we ordered was very good, but the highlight was a grilled rosticciana, simply awesome. I can only recommend having dinner at Vipore and I will definitely be back next time I...

When I learned that we were going to visit this legendary restaurant one weekend I was ecstatic. Traditional Lucchese food prepared with care and absolutely delicious. The fried chicken and french fries are world famous but the rovinelli were also divine. We will definitely go back. If you’re looking for traditional food and for a restaurant that is frequented by locals this is place to go!
