We were lucky enough to stay at Agriturismo Saltara for 9 nights. There are a long list of pros, with just a couple of areas of improvement.||||PROS:||1) The people. Between the owners and all of the staff, the people couldn't have been friendlier, and just wanted to make sure you were enjoying your stay and everything was OK.||2) The breakfasts that are included with boarding. We rarely ate again until late afternoon because it was so filling. And we never finished all of it. There is something for everyone - note we were with a vegetarian and she was always stuffed, as well.||3) Beds in the cabins. So comfortable. Firm, but not overly IMO. I have back issues and never had a problem here.||4) Roomy cabins with nice sized bathrooms.||5) There was a mini fridge that they kept stocked with water and soda for free. Very nice!||6) The pool was nice a clean, although a bit cold...||||ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT:||1) The first night we had the AC on it was so loud and smelly it resulted in poor sleep. We told them after a couple of days, and they did something that got rid of the smell, which was great. Unfortunately the noise was still so loud that every time it turned on it sounded like a plane was taking off and would wake you up. Eventually we just turned it on an hour or two before bed to cool down the room, then turned it off. This mostly worked so it wasn't a big deal. We were there in August, so that's the only reason I'm mentioning it.||2) At night sometimes there was a certain sewer smell when we were hanging out outside by the cabin. Yuck. It wasn't all night, though, but still - pee-yew!||3) We couldn't really eat breakfast on the porch at the restaurant because they had a lot of wasps. They told us they don't sting, but back home they do and they made us a bit nervous.||||All in all I would definitely return and am thankful to our hosts who were very...

We stayed here for 6 nights on the 06/06/17 before moving on to the east coast of Sardinia.||||Our first night was pretty much a disaster - but I must add that this was no fault of Saltara. The next morning haven spoken with Natalia - within one hour, our problem was sorted. Now that is exceptional service in this day and age and we completely enjoyed the rest of our stay. The bungalow was lovely, in a cool shady area and was very welcome as it created respite from the heat of the day.||||Breakfast was truly a work of art. Each day a different colourful array of goodies arrived one by one, and different juices each day as well as various coffee options.. All beautifully prepared and presented. Five stars to the kitchen staff and the wonderful lady who served us each morning. ||||The evening meals were open to residents and non residents.. Again, very well presented and totally mouth watering. Served with lovely wine. You could sit inside or out. ||||Natalia and Mario - you have the most wonderful place and we are glad to have shared it for a time.||||If I were to make a small criticism, it would be that umbrellas around the pool area would be very welcome. One member of staff found us an umbrella, but there were no bases! We tended to move position each time the sun moved, but this is very, very minor.||||Would we stay again - yes most definitely! But firstly we need to see more of this beautiful island, then we can...

Below expectations. The place, apart from being in the middle of nowhere has nothing special. It has a point if you stay in the little houses but not for just have dinner. The service is good, they seem to have a person specialized for each task. And the food, the food is good but not very good as it should be for such a place. The porchetta had some slices that were dryer than other, I hope half of it wasn't from the day before. The Pan was a bit basic, the raviolis too. The vegetarian appearitive was very good. And the biggest problem comes with the price. The menu/individual dished, the portions and the price are build in a way that makes no sense to me, you end up paying too much either way. I guess you pay for the service and place but is nothing spectacular either, they want to look fancy but then your porchetta is full of wasps.

Amazing dining experience in an unforgettable setting! Our evening started with an aperitivo on the Saltara terrazza, we had two glasses of Sardinian bollicine (bubbly) accompanied by a few nibbles. The dinner started with a complimentary non-alcoholic infusion that had all of the fruity flavours of Saltara. Before the meal started they brought us some delicious warm freshly baked bread and pane carasau with locally produced extra virgin olive oil. Our waiter was fantastic in suggesting what to order, the house culurgiones were delicious, the maialino was melt in the mouth, and the mirtamisu was to die for. An absolutely unforgettable experience and we will definitely be back on our next visit to Sardinia!

Dinner here was super special. It’s such a beautiful and romantic atmosphere for dinner. The service is out of this world. The food felt like it celebrated the best of Sardinian produce! The charcuterie board was probably the best I’ve ever had - don’t skip it. The pastas were great. The roast porceddu was really tasty, it was definitely not the best pork I’ve ever had as I think it’s hard to keep all the cuts moist when cooked over fire. For dessert I personally do not think tiramisu benefits from edits of any kind, including the addition of myrtle which they do here. But overall this meal was incredible I wished we had stayed at the hotel - the photos on booking.com don’t do it justice at all.
