Long review: If you like fancy fusion food or elaborate italian food then this may not be for you, but if you like classic italian food executed to perfection, in a stunning setting with great service and welcoming people, this is the place to go

This restaurant is high on a hill, accessible by a private road and looks over Lago Trasimeno, it also boasts it’s own vinyard. We tried their house white which was lovely if not a bit round, sadly we did not try their red, it being lunch time. 😔

We went here for lunch, the lawn looks over the lake, and the restaurant is made of stunning thick brick. It is really child friendly and even has a playground. Nicola who I think was the owner and also our waiter had us in fits of laughter.

The pasta dishes are fresh and that was the best arabiata I’ve ever had, my partner said the same of his ragu! The tagliata secondi was also perfectly executed… Courgette and straciatella antipasti was a pleasant surprise too. Even a simple side of roasted potatoes were to die for!

Siamo venuti in questo posto meraviglioso in quanto siamo stati in vacanza al lago Trasimeno. Innanzitutto consiglio di raggiungere il posto seguendo le indicazioni stradali e del Google Maps percorrendo la litoranea, da san Feliciano sono solo 10 minuti e la strada è abbastanza buona. Appena si arriva si rimane incantati dalla stupenda vista con affaccio sul lago. Il parcheggio è ampio. In estate è possibile mangiare all'esterno sotto l'ombra e il fresco degli alberi, circondati da un giardino bello e curato, con giochi per bambini (la sera poi nel giardino si trovano le lepri che cercano cibo). Il personale è esperto, gentilissimo e disponibile anche per chi, come me, è allergico al latte (pasta senza latticini e alternative fino al dolce). L'interno del ristorante ha un camino antico che domina la sala e l'entrata, che ricorda i vecchi casolari, l'arredamento è elegante e raffinato. Siamo rimasti così tanto colpiti dalle specialità di questo ristorante che abbiamo cenato e pranzato il giorno successivo che coincideva con il 15 agosto. Abbiamo preso un antipasto Montalcino con salumi di ottima qualità e stuzzichini vari accompagnati da pane e grissini fatti da loro. Le fettuccine fatte dalla cuoca con ragù di cinghiale e sugo d'oca fantastici, che ricordano il sugo fatto dalle nonne. Buonissime anche le trofie al pesto fatto da loro, senza aglio e parmigiano. Di primissima qualità le carni e le verdure. Ottimo anche il vino prodotto dalle viti del luogo. I dolci poi fanno sognare adulti e bambini. We had a Sunday Lunch in the garden under the trees with a beautiful view on the lake. The road uphill was not difficult to drive and well maintained. You are rewarded with the beautiful scenery of the area.

We had the antipasti platter to share. For only 13,00 you get many different antipasti, and not only cheese and charcuterie. Also the fresh tagliatelle with wild boar sauce and trofie with pesto were very good.
