Da Cesare — Restaurant in Maratea

We received an incredibly warm welcome as soon as we entered Da Cesare and shown to a great table outside on the veranda. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. I started with marinated anchovies which were absolutely gorgeous followed by a whole seabass cooked simply in the oven but was the best I have ever eaten by a long way. My wife skipped a starter and had mixed fried fish which she loved so much that she had the same again two nights after.

If you are anywhere near this restaurant, it is an absolute must...

We’re staying nearby and finally decided to try here after passing it all the time, had an absolutely spectacular experience - great view with a perfect sunset, the tuna steak was one of the best we’ve ever had and instantly regretted ordering just one instead of three, and seafood risotto was very clean and refreshing. Salad full of fresh greens and tomatoes. Warm, prompt service, dessert was perfect. Completely packed full of reservations on a Monday, best...

If sea food is what you are looking for, than you will find it here. Only sea food if I remember correctly. It is good and not that pricy. though I have to say that the whole concept of "coperto" - paying for setting up the table is irritating, it is a standard in Italy. I would much rather pay more for food than give 2€ per person for "nothing". But maybe it's just me and my non-coperto Polish heritage ;) Make a reservation a day before cause it...
