Locanda Zacco - Goraiolo — Restaurant in Marliana

We stayed here 2 weeks in early june 2014. Matteo and his mother are two perfect hosts. Locanda zacco is a small gem in Tuscany. Just 8 rooms, beautifully decorated, a luscious garden and the best food you ever tasted. We had a great, very bright room with a hughe balcony. Book here with half board! Breakfast is a small buffet with a freshly baked croissant everyday. Bread to toast and ham and cheese. Plus cereal. Orange and pineapple juice that is freshly pressed. Yammy. Diner is a 3 course meal each with 2 dishes to chose from. For you to enjoy on the garden terrace.||In a good location close to Luca, Pisa, Livorno, the beach, Florence (by train only 50 minutes with easy access), San Geminiano, the chianti route and lots of mountain villages such as Montecatini Alto. Walk down from Alto to Montecatini and then take the funiculare back to Alto. in a tiny village, very high in the hills surrounding Pescia, is this understated, family run, hotel/restaurant full of Tuscan charm and character. The charming suite we took was certainly compact with very small ensuite shower-room but immaculately clean, comfortable bed and appropriate local country house furniture. This and one of the other rooms has a beautiful terrace with views across to the west between trees.||||The restaurant downstairs is run with genuine integrity - beautifully sourced ingredients and an excellent Italian wine list. The menu is attractive and unpretentious and we were really impressed by the quality of the dishes on each occasion.
