We stayed at Ca Marian for 4 nights in February 2020. I have to say it was one of the most relaxing experiences ever! The ambience was rustic, definitely farm house chic. We were welcomed on late night check in with a delicious pour of verduzzo, a local specialty sweet wine. I loved the lofted ceilings in the rooms and the showers were excellent for europe with great heat and water pressure. Every morning we woke up to an excellent homemade breakfast, which we found out the woman who bakes everything wakes up at 3AM every morning to create such a luxurious experience! One can expect crostatas, homemade strudel, muffins as well as an array of continental options. Then of course, whatever coffee you would like as well as charcuterie options. I was really in awe of this, all the effort they put in considering it was off season. I loved the hustle and bustle of the restaurant downstairs, it was nice to be able to grab a quick glass of wine on our way back up to the room and the food options were excellent as well! All locals, so you know it's good. Close to many amenities in Udine. The value of the experience is excellent, E500 for 2 rooms for 4 nights. If I ever go back to udine, which I likely will considering I have many family members there, I will certainly be staying again....

Read moreI arrived here on a Friday afternoon to find a lovely building set alone down a quiet lane. Then early evening the noise of cars coming up the gravel drive started. The adjoining restaurant is extremely popular for lunch and evening. Friday night music went on until 1 am and room number 1 is directly over the restaurant so you can hear chairs scraping, loud conversations etc. Once that ended the pigeons above started cooing for most ofthe night. Once you finally nod off the church bells are your 7am alarm clock.||Despite an excellent restaurant next door the disappointing breakfast was a carton of orange juice and one croissant.||They forgot to clean our room all weekend and offered a discount when we checked out. The price reflected my comments above but I would not stay here again...looks...
