Da Pippi — Restaurant in Masone

We have visited Da Pippi during Ferragosto initially as a backup because many restaurants were closed.

At the end we were glad about this coincidence and it is truly a local highlight. The service was excellent and the quality of the menu was outstanding. We had Pasta as Primi Piatti and they were authentic and delicious. As Secondi we had calve with potatoes and this was amazing. The gravey was amongst the best I have ever had so far. As dessert we asked what was the most popular one for the place and it turned out to be pana cotta. It was so soft, tasty and delicious!

Also the Ambiente was nice.

Ieri abbiamo fatto una sorpresa ai miei Suoceri che stavano pranzando da Pippi (Ristorante da loro apprezzato e dove fanno spesso tappa mentre vanno/ritornano da Alassio) e, sebbene non avessimo prenotato, l'accoglienza del Ristorante è stata ottima e rapidamente ci è stato preparato un tavolo accanto ai Nonni. Ma passiamo al cibo. Mia Moglie e i miei ragazzi sono rimasti molto soddisfatti dei loro piatti: zuppa di ceci, arrosto con patate e gnocchi di patate viola con fonduta di formaggio e tartufo nero più i dolci finali con tiramisù e budino. Io invece ho avuto meno accortezza e fortuna. Meno accortezza perché quando ho scelto i taglierini ai funghi porcini mi è stato detto che sarebbero stati "rossi" e invece che dirottare l'attenzione su un altro piatto maldestramente ho detto "va bene". Ebbene no, non erano all'altezza della valutazione che ho trovato qui per il Ristorante e inoltre la porzione era meno ricca delle aspettative e con pochi funghi. Ma quello che proprio non mi aspettavo è che quando ho ordinato il piatto ho chiesto la cortesia di accompagnarlo con un bicchiere di rosso e la gentilerisposta è stata "le mando subito Gianni". Passa il tempo ed arriva la pietanza ma non il vino quindi chiedo di nuovo di avere possibilmente un bicchiere di vino e la risposta cortese che ricevo è la stessa di prima "le mando subito Gianni". Mangio i taglierini senza grande soddisfazione e dopo che ho concluso appare Gianni ma è troppo tardi e rinuncio al mio bicchiere di vino. Mi poteva...

On our way to Milano, we decided to stop and enjoy a nicer lunch than one typically finds on the highway. We were so thrilled we did as the meal was incredible! Everything was homemade and clearly prepared with a love for excellence. The pasta was beautiful, sauces excellent, the meat was tender and delicious. The only thing better than the meal was the excellent service and sentiment of family togetherness! We would 100% recommend detouring off the highway to enjoy this wonderful...
