La Piazzetta Valpiana — Restaurant in Massa Marittima

Quite a dissapointing night. We came in and we were greeted in quite an angry way by the host. Afterwards we ordered drinks. We did not get the drinks that we had ordered, this foreshadowed the evening that was yet to come. Secondly we got our main courses, the pasta caccio e pepe was way too salty, even though this dish only consist of pecorino cheese and pepper, we sent in back and ordered the ragù instead, this was also quite tasteless and dry. Siamo stati ieri sera a cena in questo ristorante sulle colline che circondano Follonica. Alcuni amici che sono clienti abituali ce lo avevano consigliato, elogiando la pizza, la cucina e i prezzi. Eravamo in otto, ci siamo accomodati in un bel giardino esterno, ambiente non sofisticato né particolarmente curato (sedie orribili, tavoli traballanti) ma abbastanza piacevole e fresco. Io ho assaggiato varie portate dividendole con altri. I fiori di zucca ripieni e fritti non mi sono piaciuti. Dentro avevano ricotta e acciuga, ma forse anche mozzarella e una volta messi in bocca hanno tirato fuori tantissima acqua. Voto 4 e 1/2 L'insalata di mare calda comprendeva essenzialmente calamari, era ben cotta ma senza sapore. Dominata dal pepe. Voto 5 Gli spaghetti alle vongole erano molto salati. Voto 4 La frittura di calamari e gamberi era ben fritta ed abbondante. Voto 7 La crema di mascarpone con lingue di gatto sembrava panna. Voto 4 Il servizio abbastanza lento e non attento (per avere un'altra birra abbiamo dovuto chiedere 3 volte ed aspettare 15 minuti). Vino bianco frizzante caldo, abbiamo chiesto se ci fosse freddo e ci hanno detto che era tutto alla stessa temperatura. Non avevano neanche ghiaccio!!! E siamo ad Agosto!
