Vesuvio 3 — Restaurant in Melendugno

After all the positive reviews we found the quality of food disappointing. Particularly the pizza wasn’t very tasty. It lacked seasoning (herbs and pepper), the mushrooms of the Quattro Funghi pizza weren’t fresh and the Salsiccia was greasy and again not tasty as we expected. We finished off with a desert, which‘s sauce was sugary, but nothing of great flavors. Needless to say that at least the starter was satisfying. NOTE POSITIVE: ok per la pizza (soprattutto a confronto con le altre salentine) e il personale ai tavoli estremamente gentile, NOTE NEGATIVE: a parte la pizza tutti gli altri piatti sono di basso livello, ma con prezzi altissimi completamente insensati: non c'è pasta fresca, solo secca e 15 euro per un piatto di gnocchi non fatti a mano e con un sugo di verdure e melanzane lentissimo che lasciava acquetta sul piatto è un ladrocinio; la frittura di pesce (solo gamberetti e totani) è arrivata tiepida e gommosa, persino sul limone hanno risparmiato era una fettina sottilissima senza succo. Le verdure grigliate erano gelide e immangiabili: le melanzane crude, i peperoni terribili sembravano fatti giorni prima e il tutto grondante di olio. Una cosa grave: nel menù non sono indicati con l'asterisco i pesci o le altre pietanze congelate (dal sapore lo sembrano tutte); quando uno chiede che dolci ci sono, non li comunicano a voce ma portano in giro un piatto con pezzi d'esempio, il piatto non ha alcuna copertura, viene avvicinato alle facce delle persone, tenuto all'aperto e lo fanno girare, sarebbe una buona idea se e poi non servissero il dolce direttamente da quello stesso piatto!! Eravamo allibiti ne abbiamo avuto la certezza dal cannolo siciliano che era rotto! Inoltre era completamente umido e molle. Il luogo in sé è molto paesano ma non caratteristico, un tripudio di led colorati e tantissimi coperti, i posti all'aperto sono relativamente pochi quindi il personale fa molta pressione perché i tavoli si sgomberino...

If you know how good you can eat in Salento you will never go to this place. It is horrible.

You don't have enough space everybody sitting next to the others. And it is loud very loud. The pizza is not bad but nothing special compare to the other places I have visited before. The staff forgot the most of our order. They do their best to get you out and to have the table for the next guests. As well you have to pay for the parking place. I cannot recommend this place.
