The first thing you need to know is that this is not a hotel, it is a restaurant with rooms. The second thing you need to know is that if you arrive when there aren't any staff in the restaurant preparing for service, actually serving, or clearing up after service then you may not be able to check into your room. In particular, there didn’t seem to be any staff around between 4.30pm and 6.30pm, so it's best not to arrive in this time window. If you stay here with these points in mind then you shouldn't be disappointed.||||The bedrooms have been refurbished fairly recently and this has been done tastefully. We stayed in room 8, which has a little balcony at the front looking out towards the sea and a larger terrace at the side which also has sea views. The room was clean, tidy and spacious with a very good modern bathroom. We couldn't get the air conditioning to work properly as it ran at too high a temperature and we couldn’t lower it; but that might be our incompetence rather than an issue with the room||.||The minor issues we had were all forgivable though because of the fantastic location, at the edge of a lovely quiet sandy beach. We stayed here on a Saturday in late September; it was a lovely hot sunny day but there were no more than a dozen people on the beach. There are sun loungers belonging to the hotel which can be used free of charge. It was an idyllic setting.||||Breakfast was basic but it was okay.||||We only stayed one night while driving round Sicily and we based ourselves at the hotel for a day and a half. I'm not sure what else Porto Palo has to offer, but I didn't get the impression that it is much. So while this is an excellent place to stay if you want a couple of days lying on the beach, I'm not sure it’s a good base for an extended break, unless you really do just want to lie on a...

We were a table of 7, including a toddler, and overall I have to say that our experience was very poor. We got offered water immediately and it arrived quickly - from then on it was a disaster. We had to wait at least 30 minutes to order our food. No more than 60 seconds after placing the order, I chased the waitress to ask to change a plate, as my wife changed her mind. The waitress was rude, to say the least. She actually raised her voice, said that the order had already gone to the kitchen, that it was "automatic"... wow. Going back a bit, I need to add that the table next to ours left, was turned, and the new people that sat there received their Spritz drinks, wine, water and.... starters (whilst we were still waiting for our wine, forget the food, although that table sat at least 20 minutes after e arrived). We also had to ask 3 times for the bread basket (that we were offered at the same time as the water). We then asked for a high chair for our daughter. It arrived at least 10 minutes later, but it was so, so dirty. There were crumbs other other food bits, as well as stains. We didn't manage to use it. As to the food, if you charge €23 per person for a (minimum 2 people) pasta dish with seafood, you must ensure that the dish is very good, sorry. It wasn't great (it wasn't terrible) but again, for that price, you expect something better than what we received. There was an enormous amount of olive oil in the pasta, which I don't think is acceptable. If you charge higher than average prices, you should absolutely make sure that you have enough staff, as a minimum. And in my opinion, you need to make sure also that the food is... above average. We didn't have desert, just paid and left after we finished eating. Beautiful location, we wish we could have...

I'm not one to leave reviews, especially negative ones, but my experience at this restaurant was so awful that I feel compelled to warn others: DO NOT GO HERE 😭. My partner and I ordered a pasta dish, potato salad, Sicilian salad, and the cotoletta (schnitzel). The food quality was shockingly poor, and the schnitzel was inedible. I'm not a picky eater and usually manage to finish my meals, even if they're not great. This was the first time I've ever had to return a dish. Despite politely explaining that the meat tasted off and bloody, the waiters were completely unhelpful and seemed indifferent. I ended up paying the full bill for a meal we barely touched. The service was apathetic towards both the customers and the food they served. The schnitzel, which I ordered as a main, came as a solitary, oily slab of meat, forcing me to pay extra for a side of fries. The potato salad was simply unseasoned, boiled potatoes, and the pasta was mediocre and oily. Also, the menu doesn't specify the meats or ingredients used, so be cautious! Overall, avoid this place unless you want to...

Superb restaurant! Highly recommend this to anyone who wants to experience true Sicilian cuisine. Authentic dishes with just a touch of sophistication - nothing pretentious about it! We simply had to go back the following day and if we could we would have stayed there for a week. We tried just about everything on the menu. The tuna carpaccio, stewed baby octopus, Mediterranean mussel plate, raw Mazara red prawns, shrimp and pistachio pasta, clam pasta and the spaghetti vittorio are all dishes to order! Wine selection is great too. Perfect spot to indulge and have a relaxing afternoon on the beach - it is a great swimming spot too. Staff were attentive and kind and it was great to see Vittorio around at all times. Cute labradors too!

We had a nice dinner here - the menu is pretty straightforward and what you’d expect. There’s a nice patio next to the parking lot and you can hear the water even from in the restaurant. The service is amazing, the owner can be seen helping clear tables, and several of the waiters speak English and patient Italian for us tourists. We did find the food to be a bit underwhelming (although- portion sizes are very generous!) the grilled tuna was a bit salty, the caprese salad was really lovely, and the pasta alla Vittorio a bit dry and boring They also give a little complementary dessert plate of little cookies; we also had a really nice tiramisu with it. All in all, a nice place for dinner but overhyped.

We loved it here - booked one night dinner b & b, but ended up staying on for lunch the next day we enjoyed it so much. Service a little patchy - no hotel reception as such on arrival, but we were eventually shown to our room which was lovely - terrace overlooking the beach. The location is stunning. Dinner was fabulous - the restaurant very busy so service was a somewhat brisk, but the food was generous in portions and beautifully cooked. Lovely homemade almond biscuits came with an espresso coffee. Breakfast was pretty special too, and lunch was a joy with lots of families enjoying their Sunday by the sea. Hard to understand some of the negative comments, we hope to return some day.
