I went there as we did a last minute booking with my family and looked like a typical osteria from Friuli. This is a place for meat lovers only as the rest of the options were limited and my sister who hosted her birthday lunch had frico and polenta as she is vegetarian. People who opted for pasta had a ridicolous tiny portion each in a massive plate. Never seen something that small for a standard italian cooking.
Very disappointed indeed as they paid for everybody elses and had the least amount of food especially the birthday girl.
The best part of this place is the fire cooking in the middle of the restaurant. The meat was big however tasteless and ended up putting a lot of salt. No spices or garlic was used either. The quality of the meat was ok, nothing to remember you for and not cooked at best, also chef or waiter forgot to ask how we wanted it cook which is a standard questions in all restaurants I visited internationally. Please ask your clients!
I therefore asked for some seasoning and the chef was eager for me to experience his special sauce as he went to the kitchen, our waiter instead pour too generously all the sauce he found near the meat, on my place making it incredibly oily and honestly distateful. The chef changed the plate for me and recomposed the plate however by then the meat was cold.
I feel sorry for wasting our time together there and despite we spent quite a lot of money we were not even given something extra to be thankful for.
Will...
Read moreI know it's out of the box regarding to tourism. We are a couple that doesn't like the mass tourism and if you'd like to eat local Italian food this is the place to be. The osteria doesn't have a menu but the perfectly English speaking owner made a special menu from all the local things he had. Vegetables, meat, the wine... Everything was spot on. If you want really good local Italian food this is the place to be. He promised me good homemade wine next year so we'll be back for sure.
Thank you for your hospitality my friend. Grazie mille amico, il cibo era delizioso!! Greetings from the...
Read moreWent on Mother’s Day here in Italy and maybe it was just an off day, I like my shake to be rare but as mine was both the thinnest and the last to be served it was well done with no red inside, there were 9 of us, seven had stake. Someone has to be last, just unfortunate that it was me. Mine was with mushroom and very well seasoned, others had with hurbs, this was very salty, so much so one of the party past her portion to her boyfriend to finish. He ate the meat not the source. Will I go back, no, but this is not my type of restaurant, the others in the party may...
