La locanda sul Mare by Beachbar SEA VIEW RESTAURANT — Restaurant in Misiliscemi

if I could I wouldn't give any star for this locanda. I have had definitely the WORST restaurant experience in my life. First, it is horribly expensive for what it is. My wife has ordered a "sicilian insalata" looking at the ingredients specified on the menu (iceberg salad, etc etc). Finally, they came with a mini plate of chopped boiled potatoes (80% potatoes), a little bit onion and that's almost all !!! No sauce, no olive oil, nothing! So, nothing coincided with the menu !! Since I speak italian quite well, I asked to the boss if he is joking on me... He didn't admit that everything was wrong, by arguing that THIS IS THE TRUE SICILIAN INSALATA, and he is making me a favour to make me taste it. I've asked him about the salad, and he said: we put potatoes instead of salad, then... I asked one by one about all the ingredients written in the menu, and he was answering: "ok, we put something else, but if you insist, we'll put you what it is written in the menu" . It would be comic if it wasn't pathetic :-)) My wife didn't eat the "insalata" at all, he took it back. Finally he got angry (him again!) and told me that I am insulting him and that he is a truly honest sicilian ! At the end, he took his revange by charging me 10 euros for a 33 cl beer, everything was a fiasco but I wasn't able to argue more, I was in holiday with my family and I didn't want to make too much fuss. so we quit by paying something like €50 for two plates of pasta and a beer....

The views and the location is Ofcourse very beautiful to have dinner right on the water. That’s where it ends. While the food was nice it wasn’t spectacular. Two stars because the fish was over priced, And there was no transparency on pricing until you got to pay and received the bill and were surprised and shocked that 150g of fish for one person cost 48€. This is excessive even for fresh fish. It was clear that they had an issue selling the fish to other customers because others declined the waiters attempted upsell. The service in general felt unfriendly, hurried and asking questions about the meal wasn’t very welcome. This was both due to a lack of English but mainly the style of the waiter, not making any effort to explain the basic menu accompaniments as to what comes with the fish. it was as though we were meant to eat whatever they gave us. In addition the waiter a few times kept trying to upsell us drinks, and even dessert while e were busy paying at the counter. There are better places with price transparency and hospitable service. This one left us...

Risposta: avevo scritto un papello ma evidentemente non si è salvato. Riscrivo la recensione, motivo sempre il disappunto.

Con rammarico e spirito costruttivo assegno una stella ad una delle location più suggestive del litorale trapanese. Veniamo solo una volta l'anno nel periodo estivo da almeno 5 anni in questo locale con sfondo egadi strepitoso (puoi praticamente toccare le isole), per la pasta con i ricci molto buona. Per noi è una tappa delle vacanze. Purtroppo quest'anno è andato tutto male. Un primo misunderstanding c'è stato sulla prenotazione che non risultava ma comunque gestita e risolta. Dopo di che tutto male. I menu arrivano dopo 15 minuti, è addirittura arrivato il cameriere per l'ordinazione constatando che ancora mancava la carta. Ci viene detto comunque che i ricci erano finiti. Pazienza, mi dico, sarà la volta buona che assaggio qualcos'altro. Ci portano una bottiglia di Kikè, lo aprono e lo lasciano sul tavolo senza cestello e senza farlo degustare. Vabbè non importa, richiediamo cestello che ci viene portato.

Ordiniamo 2 crudi di mare composti da un'ostrica calda, 2 gamberi buoni, 1 scampo maltrattato, e una tartare di un pesce non definito totalmente marinato. Sapeva solo di limone. Chiamo subito la cameriera che mi dice trattarsi di tonno, l'altro cameriere invece sostiene essere pesce spada. Chi avrà ragione? Il pesce comunque era talmente marinato che si era praticamente cotto. Faccio notare il disappunto al personale che mi dice che riferirà allo chef. Abbiamo preso anche 2 zuppe di cozze molto abbondanti con crostini, fatte bene anche se a mio avviso mancavano di piccante e sale. Niente di che ma non male.

Continuiamo con 2 couscous di pesce con cappuccetti fritti. Di questo posso salvare solo l'incocciatura della semola e i cappuccetti. Brodo assolutamente senza sapore e di pesce neanche l'ombra. Gli altri 2 commensali hanno preso una busiata ai frutti di mare anonima tanto da richiedere sale e pepe e una linguina gamberi, calamari e crema di mandorla davvero immangiabile tanto da essere lasciata. A questo punto chiamo di nuovo il cameriere che aveva preso le ordinazioni dicendogli che nella linguina di calamari neanche l'ombra e che la crema di mandorla aveva reso il piatto stucchevole e immagiabile e anche che il couscous non ci era piaciuto. Risposta: "veramente ci fanno tutti i complimenti per questo piatto". Ed è a questa affermazione che decidiamo di chiedere il conto (182 euro) e di andare via senza ordinare nient'altro dopo aver mangiato male e con tanta, tantissima delusione. Si è ipotizzato anche un cambio di gestione non avendo più visto il signore degli altri anni.
