Da Camillo — Restaurant in Mompantero

We had lunch here on our way from Turin back to France. A really nice family run typical Italian restaurant. Very good value for money and well worth a little detour. The surroundings are really beautiful, we make this trip twice a year and normally we stay on the highway but what a beautiful surprise this little hidden valley is! The food was good although the pasta was slightly overcooked but then we arrived at 13.00 so I imagine at 12.15 it would have been perfect. For only €13 per person we got: a large plate of pasta (tagliolini) with sauce and grated parmesan roast chicken and vegetables for my husband and for me delicious raw meat (tartare piemontese) with french fries and salad a piece of homemade cake a coffee We spent another €4 on a quarter of really tasty red wine and paid all together €30. Need I say more...

Un locale immerso nelle montagne .... non ci capiti per sbaglio lo devi proprio cercare . Sicuramente un posto molto tranquillo dove respirare aria buona . Sono venuta qui per un battesimo a giugno ...tutto bello anche se nell' aperitivo esterno non avevano i piatti e dovevi prendere gli stuzzichini con le mani un po' poco igenico direi . Ottimo il cocktail analcolico alla fragola da sballo davvero . Il servizio è stato veloce e ci è stata anche data la possibilità di fare il bis per alcune portate. Ci sono ritornata a fine ottobre per un compleanno ed era tutto diverso . Un caos interno indicibile Servizio così lento che ci siamo mangiati solo pane e grissini praticamente. Dal primo al secondo abbiamo aspettato un ora e mezza non credevo fosse lo stesso ristorante. Passiamo ai piatti .... Pasta con il ragù di selvaggina quando è arrivata era praticamente fredda senza ne infamia ne lode il piatto .... L arrosto con patate ottimo peccato che dovevi cercare sia l arrosto che le patate tanto era piccola la porzione . Sono uscita piena solo perché avevo mangiato pane e grissini .... Infatti alla sera ho cenato tranquillamente perché avevo fame . I bagni abbastanza puliti ma di tre bagni nel settore donne due erano turche .... Ancora nel 2022 le turche in un locale che vuole essere anche di prestigio magari no .... Prezzi nella media almeno dal listino letto sulla porta dato che non ho pagato io . Diciamo che la location la fa da padrona e se si fossero organizzati come al battesimo sarebbe stato anche un pranzo...

We visited Da Camillo for dinner during our drive from France to Italy. We were immediately welcomed by the staff and seated despite not having a reservation on a Saturday night. Our food (5 persons) was served promptly and the quality was exceptional. The prices were also very reasonable. Whilst we didn't have any dessert, they looked and sounded amazing! There is plenty of free on-street parking by the restaurant. We'll definitely be visiting again next time we're in the...
