We arrived at the restaurant attracted by the reviews. The atmosphere and the building were very charming. However, we noticed that the service was quite disorganized as soon as we asked for a table. We were seated at a round and comfortable table, but one of my friends was annoyed by a small table placed next to him. When we tried to move it, the waiter put it back in place, explaining that it was for appetizers and would only be moved if we didn’t order any.
We ordered a mussel soup, Mojito tuna, and pagro (the fish of the day), along with a bottle of wine. Unfortunately, another downside was that they served the food before the wine. The food was decent, though not exceptional. The Mojito sauce was too overpowering, masking the flavor of the tuna. The fish of the day was tasty, but it was cleaned in a way that made it difficult to eat most of the fish. The cook who cleaned the fish was friendly and even offered to take a few pictures for us.
Overall, the experience was okay but not worth the high price;...
Read moreWe arrived at opening time for dinner 7pm (according to Google) but were told the kitchen didnt open until 7.30pm. We chose to wait the 30minutes as we were hungry and had already made the drive to be there. We chose to order pizza but upon ordering we were told that pizza is not being served. Despite this we stayed and ordered pasta along with some cheese as an entree. The local cheeses were fantastic, the pasta was not so great. I made the unfortunate decision to order the Gnocette which, on paper sounded great, ended up being gnocci drowned in what tasted and looked like American cheese fondue. The other components of the meal were barely present and I ended up swapping meals with my date (he wasnt enjoying his meal either). The wait staff were kind enough but did not check-in and ask about our meal during or after our service so there was not a chance to provide feedback. An average experience - I would personally go elsewhere for an...
Read moreLa mia terra holds a special place in my heart. I've been going there since I was born because it was walking distance from my grandparents countryside house. The location is so peaceful and the gardens are small but kept beautifully. The inside has been renovated but it has always been elegant without being pretentious. The service is excellent and the food is delicious. It doesn't matter what you choose it's going to be good. I suggest a mixed appetizer to begin with. Those are my favorites. I haven't been living in Monopoli for over 10 years now but I come back every year and every single year I have to go to La Mia Terra. Highly...
