Gabry Pizzeria & Ristorante — Restaurant in Monteforte d'Alpone

We were recommended this restaurant and were not disappointed. It calls itself a "pizzeria" but it is much more. It doesn't look much with a small outside seating area onto a residential street, but don't be put off. Inside is lovely and there is an inner courtyard dining area too. We went on a midweek evening and it was busy, cheerful and full of local diners. The pizza we had was delicious, thin crust with fresh toppings. The seafood spaghetti was exceptional value and tasty. Plenty of clams, mussels, shrimps and squid topped with 2 large tasty langoustines. The side salad was as big as a dinner plate too. We had a great time at Gabry's on a slow Monday night. We showed up late, close to closing time, but we're welcomed and offered a table, with a smile. One delicious pizza later (from the sizeable menu with lots of options beyond pizza) and a dessert later, we were thanking Miriam for her excellent service. (She helped us out in English as our Italian is non-existent)

Cena da dimenticare, pizza e cucina appena mangiabili. Servizio inadatto, chiediamo una forchetta più piccola per nostra figlia, la cameriera ce ne porta una normale ed anche facendolo presente se ne fregano. Chiedo un caffè ristretto, arriva la cameriera: ecco il caffè normale. Io: avevo chiesto un ristretto. Lei: sì sì, ristretto. A 40anni saprò cos'è un ristretto no!? Poi abbiamo toccato il fondo alla cassa, dopo aver pagato mi accorgo che mi hanno fatto pagare la mezza porzione di primo della bambina a prezzo pieno, convinto di un errore di battitura chiedo info alla cassiera che mi risponde: mi dispiace, ma il titolare mi ha detto di farle pagare il piatto a prezzo pieno. Visto la moltitudine di locali in zona, onesti e dove il cliente viene trattato come si deve oltre che a mangiare sicuramente meglio. Sicuramente non torneremo...
