Il Ritrovo Del Vecchio Forno - Bistró — Restaurant in Montegridolfo

Worst service ever! First we’re told we can’t sit under the covered area because it’s for the dinner crowd; however, there was another group (my daughter and her girlfriend) just having aperitivo and we’re not told to move 🤔 Then when we asked the staff why exactly were we told to move? They said “Because that area is for dinner.” So we said we want to stay for dinner (*Note: Huge mistake, there’s a restaurant with a better view 50ft way to the east of the hilltop); then followed the request with, “Can we please go back to out original seats.?” They said “No, wait till dinner time 🤦🏾‍♂️. “ Then once at dinner we were talked to like idiots never mind that we’ve lived in Italy for the last four years. We eat everything, drink everything, and we are not hard to satisfy #easygoing. This is my first time I’ve been disappointed with Beautiful Italy. So unfortunate because this is an amazing place, outside looking in. I hope tomorrow...

I stumbled upon this restaurant on one of these days where you would rather cut your head off than take your next breath. I told him to bring me whatever food and I didn't care, turns out the food was amazing, I almost cried when it was in my mouth, and it instantly made me feel better, the calming music, the crickets on the trees in the background, and the landscape around felt like magic. Salvatore the owner of the restaurant talked to me about life for a while and how nice is to do something you love in life and that was exactly what I needed on a bad day. I think that the motto of the restaurant would be something like "Eat Good, Sit Back And Relax, Life Is Good!" which is the idea behind the Italian culture...

While staying with our friends in Montegridolfo, we ate at Il Ritrovo del Vecchio Forno Bistro. It is near the entrance arch and overlooks the countryside. It's quite a pleasant vantage point and while it is a covered deck they have put plastic around on the hillside part of the deck so no large gusts of wind. Extensive menu which is fairly well executed although I think that there might be too many choices for the kitchen to execute to the best of their ability. Seafood was particularly good especially the carpaccio del bistro. Veggies on the orechiette were fine although overcooked...
