TL;DR - asked to pay 6 EUR just for sitting down.
We came as a part of a larger tour from Florence but didn't pick the lunch and wine tasting options as there weren't enough vegetarian options.
We were asked to sit in a separate table. All good until now. I still ask for a menu to see if there is something else I can still order and I get a harsh one liner "YOU HAVE TO WAIT". I still respected it, as he has to serve a larger group of 80 within a stipulated time. Without asking, we were given some water which we had, but we waited for close to 20 mins and since the menu still didn't arrive, we decided to take a walk around the estate, which was the option that was given to us at the beginning.
We come back to the table in 20 mins, still no menu, but we didn't intent to eat anyway. But then, we were asked to pay 2 eur per person, cos we sat and had the water and it was too late to order anything then. We didn't order anything in the first place cos we WEREN'T EVEN GIVEN THE MENU! Anyway, I still paid, didn't create any scene, but I feel this needed to be public...
Read moreWhat a location and what a wonderful evening. We had a great dinner at this family owned winery and restaurant - it was perfect. The first big surprise was that we were the only tourists - everyone else were locals, already a good sign. We had two laege birthday parties and a silver wedding going on, so there was geeat energy. They only serve the set same menu for everyone - whatever mamma buys on the market that day and serve wonderful homemade food - nothing fancy bit very tasty. And the best is the price - for 35€ you get s five course menu, water, wine, a glass pf sparkling in the bginning, coffee and a limoncello in the end. The homemade wines were also to our taste, we had a wonderful three hours with great service and will definitely come again. Thanks to the team for such a...
Read moreExcellent locally grown food, basted in olive oil of their land, and served with wines of the property. We had a 4-course meal: appetizers (yes, plural!) , pasta main, meat main, and dessert, accompanied by matching wines and followed by coffee and a choice of spirits, all for 28€ per person, which is a great deal. The service was incredibly friendly, and they show how proud they are of the delicious local food they serve. You can, of course, buy bottles of the wine they serve you for lunch, or the olive oil as well. But I strongly recommend you come with time and good company, because such a meal takes a long time, and it's meant...
