Not good for Solo Diners. As a solo female traveler, from time to time I experience what I call "solo bias" I am treated poorly because I am dining alone. This happened tonight. I was the first to arrive when they opened and was a bit concerned when they set me next to the service station, but it was a hot day and I thought perhaps it was because of the open window behind me. Then I noticed that other diners were all being seated out on the veranda that offered wonderful views of the sunset. This option was not offered to me. Next, I asked for a certain type of wine. He came back with what he said was comparable...and poured me a full pour without allowing me to taste it. One taste and I knew it was not what I wanted, but since he never came back I was stuck with a wine I did not like. The wine was a 15e glass of Borolo, a ridiculous price for borolo country. I also noticed that he gave tasting pours to the men who ordered wine. Mmmm Course one came out when the dining room was still empty and I got a full description of the dish and a follow up to see if I liked it. Course two and the dining room was a little busier. I still received a full description but no follow-up. That rest of the courses where just put in front of me with no explanation and then whisked away without asking if I liked it or if there was any issues. As the dining room became more busy, it seemed like I became more invisible. As for the food, like the service, it seemed to go down after the first few courses. I loved the first three dishes, but was greatly disappointed that the 'main course' was just a plate of fried mushrooms. Sure, they were good, but after the previous courses I expected something better. My recommendation would be to make this the first course and the first course (grilled mushrooms with sour cream) as the main course. It was much more complex and filling. Finally, I had mentioned that I did not want caramel on my panna cotta. My assumption was that they would substitute something else. Instead I got just panna cotta, not even a mint leaf to make it look good. It was perfectly prepared, but the presentation on top of the poor service I was receiving just added to the feeling of being an after thought. So if you have a big group and plan on spending a lot of money, I would go here as the food IS good, but if you are a solo diner, skip it. You will only be...
Read moreTrattoria Belvedere truly lives up to its reputation for showcasing fresh, local mushrooms in nearly every dish. I indulged in their full mushroom-focused menu, starting with a delightful steak tartare appetizer accompanied by fresh mushrooms. The star of the meal was the taiani pasta, rich and earthy with its mushroom pairing, and the fried mushrooms for the main course did not disappoint either. Every dish was a celebration of the flavors and textures that only fresh mushrooms can offer, and I thoroughly enjoyed the culinary experience.
However, the one downside was the pace of service. What was intended to be a leisurely lunch stretched into nearly four hours. While the food is definitely worth savoring, be prepared for a long, drawn-out dining experience.
If you’re a mushroom enthusiast and have time to spare, Trattoria Belvedere is absolutely...

My niece and nephew had this prix fix menu. I went with a combination of a-la-carte menu items.
The meal option was a local wine pairing.
This was an excellent meal! The combination of local farm to table food coupled with local wines was a truly exceptional cultural experience.
