Excellent no-frills roadside restaurant with excellent, hearthy food, super efficient no-nonsense service, and modest prices. The ambience and level of service is akin to that of an osteria, so do not expect anything fancy. Knowledge of Italian is a must if you want to avoid headaches. Just one unisex toilet with basic amenities but squeaky clean and perfectly functional.

Having said that this is a superb choice for those with a low to medium budget and are comfortable with a basic (but very efficient service, hence the 5 stars) and have at least a functional level of spoken Italian. Ok, noticing the overall score for the restaurant is 4.2, some ridiculous is going on. This is our favorite ristorante in Italy, 11 years of applied research 🤪, not tried all of them of course, and expensive restaurants likely reach higher level, but for the classic italian restaurant, it does not get better than Casale.
