L'EREMITA — Restaurant in Montopoli in Val d'Arno

Sorry I don't really get the hype around this place. I've read great reviews so I was super excited to come to this place. We came first without reservation and could not get a seat, so we booked for next evening.

The service was very average. The staff wasn't very welcoming, but ok - my mood is not excellent every day as well.

We ordered some primi and meat. The bread that came to table at first was dry and not good at all. No olive oil nothing.

The pasta was pretty good, but nobody offered us parmigiano, which could make it much better.

The meat was not good at all. We ordered beef tagliata medium. It came almost rare. I asked to have it more cooked. They took it brought it back almost the same. It wasn't eatable. I could chew it for minutes.... ahhh. We ate somehow half of the meat, but then I complained it just wasn't good and all I got was OK and they took it.

We had a fantastic dinner at L’Eremita. The gnocchi and the pappardelle with ragù were both perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The meat course was tender and well-seasoned, and the desserts – lemon sorbet and affogato – provided a refreshing and indulgent finish. Pranzo domenicale in famiglia a l'Eremita godurioso! Portate, servizio e locale più che discreti. A me, in particolare, è piaciuto il risotto con funghi e taleggio, ho trovato il riso cotto al punto giusto, ben amalgamato con gli ingredienti principi e servito a temperatura ottima. Prima di questo... L'antipasto della casa è stato a parere di noi quattro commensali, che l'abbiamo appunto scelto, sfizioso, caso mai la salsa toscana e la fonduta erano da servire in altri due cocci, facilitando, così, a tutti e quattro l'assaggio. Personalmente ho infatti consumato poco sia la fonduta che la salsa, perché i due cocci troppo lontani da dove ero seduta, in breve ero al loro lato opposto, in compenso ho mangiato più affettati e formaggi. I dolci davvero sublimi. Locale carinissimo, curato nei dettagli ed accogliente, dall'atmosfera romantica. Bagno pulitissimo. Rapporto qualità/prezzo in linea con quanto viene proposto.
