Valentino — Restaurant in Motta Sant'Anastasia

Just found this on Google maps as I was looking for where I used to live in Sicily while in the military... 30 years ago!!! I suddenly remembered the name of the restaurant I used to frequent: Valentino's. It made THAT much of an impression on me! This place is and was the absolute best. They treated my wife and me so good (as we were very frequent guests) and the food was superb! I used to get a pizza very often (with eggs), and also the Penne con Quattro Formaggio as well as the Spaghetti Bolognese and the Spaghetti Carbonara, which I totally forgot about until now. In my personal opinion, this establishment stands out as my preferred dining option within the Motta area. Their pizza offerings are exceptionally delectable, particularly the Calabrese variety. Partiamo dai pregi. Innanzitutto ho apprezzato il fatto che mi abbiano accolto molto gentilmente nonostante fossi arrivato mezz'ora prima dell'orario di chiusura (sono uscito un quarto d'ora dopo questo) e gli ultimi clienti fossero appena andato via. Dunque personale è stato molto gentile (una cameriera in particolare sorride in modo davvero spontaneo e genuino) e il servizio è stato celere e impeccabile. Il prezzo è stato giusto, poco al di sotto della mia previsione e proporzionato alla qualità. Non ho assaggiato la pizza che dalle foto sembra di buona qualità; ma posso affermare che la qualità di antipasto, secondo e contorno ordinati è quella di una buona tavola calda. Dico ciò perché era buono; ma nulla di strepitoso, cucina semplice come quella fatta in casa (anche se mia madre, cuoca eccellente, cucina meglio), il che non guasta. L'antipasto di verdure in pastella è chiaramente un surgelato da supermercato però di quelli buoni, la cotoletta di pollo alla pizzaiola era abbondante e buona, gli spinaci al burro pure, tutto sapeva di tavola calda però anziché ristorante. Per questo e poiché il locale non è bellissimo all'interno do 4 stelle (tempo fa ero un entusiasta recensore da 5 stelle a botta, ora mi sono ridimensionato) poiché è decisamente OK e posso consigliarlo; ma non è il TOP e ovviamente c'è di meglio (non so se qui a Motta S.
