Ristorante Il Bilaterale — Restaurant in Muggia / Milje

We visited Trieste for just one day and were looking for a place to try real Italian pizza. But we had to continue our trip and went further to the town of Muggia. There we were not disappointed, because we discovered Ristorante Il Bilaterale, which turned out to be the best choice of the whole trip. ChatGPT actually pointed us to this place, and it really was the right decision.

We ordered a Parmigiana pizza, and it was the best pizza we have ever tried in Italy. Honestly, pizza in Italy often feels too simple, but here it surprised us with its taste and elegant look. Along with the order they brought us two small sandwiches with fish pâté as a free starter, and also a whole bag of fresh bread, which was very generous and tasty. We also tried a soup, which was just average, maybe 6 out of 10, but everything else was a perfect 10.

So if you are traveling in this region, even if you are staying in Trieste, it is absolutely worth coming to Muggia just for this restaurant. If you are looking for real pizza in Italy, this is the place where you will...

Mixed feelings. I am sure this restaurant is capable of the best but the service we received was very uneven. We often felt « forgotten » . The « boss » was great but he wasn’t handling our table. Our server was great when he was there but it took forever for him to get to us between services. This place has a lot of local regulars which is always good but we felt out of place. The food is excellent and the prices very reasonable. It’s too bad we actually had to walk-out before getting our expressos after waiting...

Tendo a dare 5 stelle nel caso io abbia mangiato bene, ma un paio di cose non sono andate come dovevano. La prima quella più grave, è stato l'errore del piatto ordinato, ovvero il goulash di capriolo con gnocchi. Una volta arrivato il piatto errato, la mia compagna ha mangiato da sola e anche se mangiando lentamente, il mio è arrivato dopo 15/20 minuti( tralascio il fatto di aver teovato un pelo o un capello dentro il piatto che puo succedere e non mi fa schifo)....e pure molto salato. La seconda cosa è il tavolo, a noi andava bene stare nella parte esterna racchiusa da un telone e anche per quanto riguarda gli spifferi che non era un problema, ma alla fine mi sono accorto dell'enorme quantità di polvere sulla base di esso che stava proprio sul tavolo, come da foto.....tralascio il fatto che dopo aver richiesto il pane per fare la scarpetta al primo piatto, non sia arrivato...AMEN. Per tutto il resto, un'esperienza molto positiva che rifaremo senz'altro, magari non nn il sabato che era strapieno. Alla fine di tutto, ci è stato fatto un bello sconto per scusarsi dello sbaglio che ripaiana tutto il disagio....bravi e complimenti per materie prime e...
