Disappointing Delivery Experience at Area Gourmet Pizzeria d'Eccellenza di Umberto De Blasio

I was truly looking forward to trying the acclaimed pizzas from Area Gourmet Pizzeria d'Eccellenza di Umberto De Blasio, given the reputation and high expectations around their product. Unfortunately, my experience with their delivery service was far from satisfying and left much to be desired.

After placing a delivery order as a single customer, I had to wait over two hours for my pizza to arrive. During this time, I received no meaningful update or compensation gesture—no complimentary drink, dessert, or sincere apology over the phone, which would have been appreciated as a basic gesture of customer care.

The pizza itself, particularly the “Zeppelin,” did not meet expectations. The dough was far too dense for a gourmet product and lacked the light, airy quality typical of high-level Neapolitan-style pizza. The bottom was slightly undercooked while the top edges showed signs of burning, which resulted in a disappointing texture and flavor overall.

While the ingredients might show potential, the execution and service during my experience were simply not aligned with the standards expected from a pizzeria that promotes itself as a place of excellence.

I strongly recommend considering a visit in person if you're curious to try it, but based on my experience, I would avoid ordering delivery from this...

Prendiamo sempre la pizza da loro da quando ha aperto ed è sempre stata eccellente, la prendiamo tutte le settimane io e la mia famiglia, la adoriamo per la morbidezza e il cornicione a canotto e la quantità e qualità di ingredienti che inserisce che non è per nulla scontato soprattutto oggi giorno ma loro sono sempre precisi, mi dispiace soltanto, come critica costruttiva perchè veramente ci piace la pizza sempre stata così come l’ho descritta, che da quando non c’è sempre Umberto direttamente a fare la pizza ma qualcuno che lo sostituisce che è nuovo, durante la settimana quando non c’è Umberto ad esempio gli ultimi sabati a pranzo che l’abbiamo presa al posto del sabato sera purtroppo non era come la fa lui ma aveva i bordi bassi e poco presenti inoltre duri perché cotta troppo e non è per nulla come la fa umberto o a volte anche l’altro ragazzo che c’è sempre stato che anche lui la fa come Umberto tipo che stava all’altro forno dietro al principale ma il nuovo ragazzo venuto da poco purtroppo ci dispiace ma non la fa per nulla come lui, lo dico a nome della mia famiglia che non vogliamo cambiare pizzeria per questa cosa perché ci siamo affezionati specialmente mia mamma che viene sempre a farla personalmente da vicino ogni settimana, non sappiamo Umberto quando c’è e ci piacerebbe sapere quando possiamo trovarlo durante la settimana, nulla verso questo nuovo ragazzo che sicuramente si impegna ma purtroppo non è come Umberto come l’ha sempre fatta, morbida, cotta al punto giusto, cornicioni belli grandi e presenti soffici e ingredienti sempre abbondanti…per il resto sempre tutti gentili e disponibili e speriamo che si aggiusti questa cosa perché siamo affezionati a voi e ci teniamo alla pizzeria per questo ho scritto la recensione per aggiustare questo piccolo problema che a...

Ordered pizza 2 hours ago, should me here maximum 40 minutes ago, called them and the one on the phone said that it was on its way. 30 minutes later still nothing….. Then we called again, and they said they are closed (at 23:00 but they actually close at 23:30). We paid, waited 2 hours and no food. The persons on the phone were very rude, a woman in the back screamed ‘oh my god’ because we wanted to know where our money is.
