Tucked away in the medieval village of Lollove near Nuoro, Lollovers is more than a restaurant—it's a heartwarming rural revival project. Their signature Porceddu (suckling pig) is sublime, and the service is genuinely warm. An experience that transcends mere dining. (This is "Google translate") ----------- see below the detailed version --------- A Journey into the Heart of Sardinian Tradition at Lollovers In the heart of the Sardinian mountains, about 15mins' drive from Nuoro, we discovered the almost forgotten medieval village of Lollove and stumbled upon the biggest surprise of our trip—Lollovers. This is far more than a farm restaurant; it is a remarkable village revival project, created by a group of people with a deep loyalty and pride for their homeland, built with passion and sweat. Lollove itself is a secret gem full of history and serene beauty. The Lollovers project is rooted here, aiming to breathe new life into this ancient village through food, hospitality, and immersive experiences. Our visit perfectly confirmed this mission. A Feast for the Senses and the Soul: From the appetizers of homemade fresh cheese and flavorful aged cheeses (from the tagliere salumi e formaggi, stracchino e pomodori...) to the sun-kissed pasta sauce made with tomatoes from their own garden, every bite sang with the sincerity of "farm-to-table" authenticity. The special Sardinian ravioli with lamb ragù were hearty and satisfying, and the maccarrones con stracchino, zucchine e purpuzza was the epitome of authentic "home cooking." However, the true showstopper was the legendary roasted suckling pig, Porceddu. The restaurant uses happy piglets from the local hills. The passionate chef starts preparing it early in the morning, roasting it for hours over a slow fire. The result is crackling skin that is crispy but not burnt, and incredibly tender, juicy meat with no gamy taste. This dish is a testament to the respect for ingredients and dedication to tradition. It can truly hold its own against our Cantonese roast suckling pig. 😁😁 Service and Warmth Beyond Expectations: The service was wonderfully hospitable. A special mention goes to one gentleman who spoke excellent English; he explained the village's history and the composition of each dish in detail, turning our meal into a profound cultural exchange. After the meal, he generously shared a homemade black myrtle digestif, a recipe passed down from his grandfather. The rich, sweet flavor was the perfect finale. If not for airline luggage restrictions, we would have definitely brought several bottles back to France. At Lollovers, we tasted not just food, but stories, heritage, and genuine emotion. Heartfelt Recommendation and Future Hopes: This experience offers incredible value for money and is absolutely worth a detour. We sincerely hope the Lollovers village revival project continues to thrive. On our next visit to Sardinia, we will definitely stay in their guesthouse (3 rooms now) and book their cheese-making or Sardinian cooking classes in advance for a deeper local experience. Lollovers is an encounter that can truly redefine the meaning of travel.

Holidaying in North East Sardinia from the U.K. in mid June 2023, we visited this Agriturismo/restaurant for lunch in the beautiful Lollove, not far from the town of Nuoro. We were warmly welcomed. The venue has a brilliant layout, nicely decorated, well ventilated and clean. The restaurant is indoors, with a beautiful ceiling presentation. We were waited on by Gianperlo and Laura - both were welcoming, helpful and professional throughout. We shared a number of beautiful dishes for our meal  -  the ingredients were fresh, well seasoned and absolutely delicious. This is a high quality agriturismo, in a fabulous location, with great food, and excellent service. Dornato kindly explained to us the origins of the wonderful ceiling structure. The bill was very reasonable given the high quality experience. I strongly recommend a visit here - wonderful food, wonderful people. End of.

Wonderful experience all around! The staff is welcoming and friendly, the classes were informative and fun. Their idea of involving the entire community to help build the town back up is progressive and unique. We took a pasta class with Dino, who was quality control for Barilla in his past and now lives in the home his Nonna left for him in Lollove. And a cheese making class with Samuelo, who learned how to make cheese from his Nonno and was kind enough to share his time with us. I can’t wait to see what they do with this project. I hope they inspire more people around the world to live more communally and take care of one another. If you’re in Sardinia, please stop by and experience Lollovers. Also, they fed us so well we didn’t eat for a full day after leaving. Thank you, Lollovers!!
