We stopped here on the way from Brindisi to the U.K. it was fairly easy to find and not too far from the main route north. It is set in rolling agricultural hills and is in a nice location. The room we had was quite basic but the bed was very comfortable and the shower toilet were fine. Everywhere was very clean. Breakfast was fine, nice coffee and the usual cake and yogurt, cheeses and meat if wanted. Siamo stati ieri al Gallo Bianco per un pranzo in famiglia compleanno di 18 anni di mia figlia, quasi venti persone. Premetto che qualche brutta recensione letta aveva creato scetticismo, ma poi considerato il basso livello di tali recensioni dove si parlava di "ascelle volanti" o commenti cattivi volontari, ci siamo decisi comunque e siamo andati a provare di persona la nuova gestione. Ambiente familiare, location in mezzo alla natura e buono spazio verde per far giocare "grandi" e bambini. Avevamo pattuito un menù fisso composto da antipasti misti, due primi, grigliata,maialino al forno, patate arrosto, insalata e bevande. Ottimi antipasti dai salumi, formaggi e crescia, verdure fritte fatte molto bene, polentina al ragù ottima, trippa, fagioli..top. Ottimi anche i primi, gnocchi (verdi e normali) e tagliatelle tutto fatto in casa. Lo gnocco con il ragù bianco di scottona una piacevole scoperta, la tagliatella (favolosa) alla papera io personalmente la cambierei con un ragù classico più corposo e saporito che esalterebbe di più la pasta, ma è un mio parere personale. Grigliata buona e abbondante, patate arrosto ottime. Maialino al forno cotto molto bene, saporito molto buono. Vino della casa sia rosso che rosato buoni. Servizio attento e presente, tempi giusti considerato il locale pieno e altre tavolate numerose, si percepisce che tutto il personale che lavora li ha esperienza e sa fare il proprio lavoro. Rapporto qualità/prezzo molto buono e in linea con la nostra realtà locale. ps: per i più maliziosi..io non sono ne un parente ne un amico della proprietà del Gallo Bianco, ma soltanto un cliente obbiettivo e abituato a mangiare fuori.
