What a great find! It was more by coincidence that we stumbled into this restaurant as we were just passing through the area. What we experienced was a once-in-a-lifetime lunch! and a true sardinian sunday feast! Together with plenty of other people were seated in an outside area covered by pine trees on long wooden benches. A waiter provided us with wooden plates and handmade clay cups. A few minutes later the food serving started: The staff walked through the rows of people, carrying massive cork trays on which the freshly cooked food (it was cooked outside, so you could actually watch the chef preparing it) was placed. Each guest was given bits and pieces from the trays. There were several courses, as an appetiser bread with smoked cheese, prosciutto and salami was served the main course was basically grilled chicken, lamb and pork with some potatoes on the side and to round it up they ended the feast with some great typical Pecorino cheese and a nice selection of traditional sardinian cookies. It goes without saying that one could basically have as many refills as desired. Through the whole time waiters filled up the clay cups with either water or delicious Cannonau, a typical sardinian red wine. After all that we witnessed a performance of the traditional singing of the sardinian mountain people, performed by the waiters! For the whole experience we paid a total of 25 Euros per person. I'm not sure if this is their regular lunch. We have the feeling that we were simply extremely lucky and kinda got mixed into several groups of excursions since there were plenty of coaches parked just in front of the restaurant, so maybe this was a pre-booked special and we just happened to be at the right place in the right time.

Stra consigliato a tutti!!!!!

This place provides a very special gourmet experience. They serve dishes that shepherds used to eat when they were far from their families. The women baked very thin dry bread for them, which does not spoil in hot weather, and we tasted it with specialties such as dried meat, hard cheese and as a main course there was meat on the fire, namely lamb and sirloin. The hosts kept adding to us until we really couldn't take it anymore. They kept adding to our excellent red wine and at the end also a great grappa and special beautiful sweets. I must say that anywhere in Sardinia the food is excellent.

Great spot in a rustic location and so close to orgosolo for exploring the murals all over town. Very well priced for a Motorhome and the food / service in the bar and restaurant were excellent and cheap as chips- their homemade chips...wow 😋! The pool is very clean, quiet and a little gem with great vistas over the valley below...

We also did the off road and hike excursion.. worth every penny!! Pietro was an excellent driver and knowledgeable guide!... and the lunch provided after was great... just don’t plan on driving anywhere after , they fill you up with vino and grappa!!!! The local music after was incredible...how humans can create such noises is unreal!!!

Can’t recommend...
