This is a "can't miss" one. We've been there for a celebration and we let the chef guide us through the menu. We went for something typical: salumi (parma ham, culatello and salame) and parmigiano reggiano cheese. The risk is to have something average... but this was not the case! Never ever tasted a culatello like that! We had 7 different kind of Parmigiano. One was more than 70 months old! It was my first time and I was amazed by the surprising taste of it. We then had tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms: something to dream about. And some meat: chicken served with shrimps (!) and pepper. And last, some foamed chocolate with Uva Fragola ice cream... never tasted such a delicious dessert. Everything with a fantastic bottle of K500 (sparkling white / rosé pinot noir). Read moreI did not like this place at all. It had been recommended to me and i left central Parma specifically to come to it (bad idea ).
1- Frumpy service and menu trying to ‘big the place up’ 2- no child friendly options or even attempt to help (mortadella ? Of course not this is Parma, not Bologna! Tortellini in Brodo? Of course not, only ‘tortelloni alle erbe’ here) - cheers mate… 3- decor and internal style literally from 1980 and unapologetic about it 4- clientele clearly locals and regulars that are on average wealthy and 80/90 years 5- smallish portions and for 2 adults and 2 children ( mostly eat bread and drank water because of course there is no apple juice ) i spent 125 eur.
Not my scene - but maybe its your...

The family who run it have transformed it from a simple trattoria into a real restaurant where the food is of excellent quality, traditional but with some modern or fusion touches updating the menu (for example a roast chicken served with non-traditional, sophisticated curry sauces). We were very impressed with a tasting menu of parmigiano reggiano cheeses at various ages paired with two jam/chutney compotes, and the 30 month aged raw prosciutto ham. Spectacular...
