Ristorante Il Fischio del Merlo — Restaurant in Passignano sul Trasimeno

My husband and I were traveling from Assisi to San Casciano dei Bangni and because we had time, we chose a spot along Lake Trasimeno for lunch. We had the best meal since we have been in Italy! Our server Mauro, assisted us with understanding the menu and our choices were nothing but perfection! We were served complimentary champagne, a lovely croissant with a fish crème before our enteree. We typically don’t order the three courses and Mauro suggested the (in my English) the fish soup (many types of fish!!!) and I had the plate with shrimps on a towering skewer, prawn, a fish filet, octopus and crab. Amazing presentation! We also had a berry desert…..yum! We were given a tour of the lower level tasting room/dining room. What a treat to see all of the wines and liquors. The owner and my husband traded cigars and it was a lunch we will never forget. The establishment is a wealth of thought out design! Our accolades...

Extremely unfriendly against tourists. We were looking at the menu when a man came looking for us and started talking Italian. It was 21.45 and they were closing at 22.30. Clearly 6tables were empty. We started talking in english and suddenly he said that there was no free table. We visited il marmeno in stead where they welcomed us with open arms. If you don´'t want our money, then remove your European flag.

Update after your reaction: To be clear, i would never say to hide your Italian flag. I meant the European flag. I've read we aren't welcome which hasn't changed apparently, not that we were considering tho 😅....

Ci sono stato per un ricevimento. Il locale al chiuso piccolo che poi si estende all'aperto con un copertura che non so se d'inverno riescono a sfruttare. In generale il cibo, tutto a base di pesce, era buono ma senza lodi. C'è anche una zona piscina dove abbiamo preso l'aperitivo non molto curata al momento, magari solo perché ancora non del tutto fruibile. Risposta al proprietario: Premetto che non cambierò la mia recensione facendomi condizionare dalla sua risposta del tutto fuori luogo. Ma questo è l’unico modo per poter rispondere. Considerando il fatto che sono stato anche molto diplomatico per rispetto delle persone che mi hanno portato a pranzo lì, vorrei precisare che quando uno invoca al RISPETTO ne deve anche dare. Rispettando le opinioni degli altri anche se non ci piacciono. Tenendo conto che la mia recensione non è stata negativa, e poteva esserlo, cerchi di prendere le “critiche” in maniera costruttiva. Inoltre non capisco da dove arriva la sua risposta, non ho criticato né l’arredamento né tantomeno il cibo che ho apprezzato ma senza, ripeto, eccellere per quello che è il mio personale gusto. Poi sul discorso dell’orario soprassediamo che è meglio. Mandare via la gente alle sei dicendo che alle sette avrebbe avuto altra gente non mi sembra il massimo, la prossima volta organizzi meglio il lavoro perché, sopratutto quando si tratta di ricevimenti, non si può stare lì a contare il tempo con l’orologio come ha fatto lei. Inoltre le volevo comunicare che non è l’unica persona al mondo che lavora e chi ha fatto la recensione è un lavoratore quanto lei. Se avevo intenzione di dargli una seconda possibilità, con questo credo che il discorso sia definitivamente chiuso. Saluti e...
