This is a beautiful castle that is not really equipped to be a full service accommodation.||This location contains only a few bedrooms, a dinner room, a breakfast room, and a small lobby and seating area. Most of the advertised activities are off-site through other companies.||It is a castle with only a very small explorable area. There may be more that we didn’t see, but they want you to buy the tour for that.||Not accessible at all. 20+ steps up to the front door and assistance with luggage only available at certain times. Do not recommend for mobility impaired visitors.||The bedroom was clean, but still carpeted and old, as you might expect for an old castle. Not great for allergies. Not a very comfortable bed. AC was ok but not very strong.||Wifi is very unreliable. Comes and goes in the room and not sufficient for video calls. Sitting in the lobby was a bit better but still not recommended if you need to work.||Food was good, not amazing, with a somewhat limited menu. Breakfast was nice, buffet style with coffee drinks made fresh. I was appreciative of the multiple gluten free options.||Customer service was a mixed bag. Some nice people, but others not so much. When we encountered issues, such as a rainstorm soaking multiple feet of carpet through our balcony door, the response from a front desk employee was just “it will dry”.||Most of the entertainment in the area we found on our own exploration. Ivrea is a somewhat interesting small city nearby, while Lake Sirio is a great way to spend an afternoon with several restaurants, lounging areas, and swimming.||Overall we were glad we visited, but wish we had spent most of our time in a more comfortable accommodation. I would recommend only coming for a dinner or tour. If you stay, make it just 1 night for the novelty, then move to another full-service...

Read moreIt is a romantic Canavese castle, easily accessible from the Turin-Mont Blanc motorway, situated on a hill overlooking the village of Ivrea.||||It was built between the ninth and eleventh centuries. It was originally a fortress, and in 1888 Alfredod'Andrade began restoring it. In 1981 it was declared a national monument. In 1991, it was bought by the Medic company and founded by Dr. Antonio Giodice, who restored it and used it as the headquarters of the Medic company accommodation (hotel and restaurant) and conference centre. ||||The structure is an impressive backdrop for historical reenactments, such as the medieval holidays in June. In addition to these medieval-inspired events in June and a high-class hotel, the restaurant is particularly suitable for romantic dinners and offers excellent dishes of the local Piedmontese tradition and beyond. Meals can be enjoyed in the former knights' hall; it is raised dining level.||||The entrance to the complex is via a bell and intercom, which gives it a bit of a dungeon feel. The suitcases have to be carried up some stairs. We were upgraded to the castle suite (appartamento del conte verde), which was very large and stylishly decorated.||||The fact that we were able to meet the owner rounded off our stay in a very positive way. You could feel the attention to detail, the respect for the guests and the care for the property. ||||In summary, we will always have fond memories of the beautifully restored castle complex with its romantic interior, the very friendly reception, the impeccable service, the trained and very friendly staff, its excellent star cuisine, the great prices and the very good quality of sleep. ||||Saremo felici di venire di nuovo!||Grazie di tutto e spero di...
