Concorde — Restaurant in Pescara

A lunch surprise at the tiny Pescara airport, which has few amenities and almost nowhere to eat. This was the first place in Italy where -- after two weeks vacation-- we were asked to show our Green Pass vaccine certification. In addition, you enter the restaurant via a gate which takes your picture and temperature, and sprays you with a fine disinfecting mist. The service was excellent-- a polite, efficient, English-speaking waiter took care of us The food was mixed-- my chitarra (spaghetti and tiny meatballs in tomato sauce) was very good, but my wife's veal and broccoli dish was inedible. Pescara Airport is small and serviced by a small bar at one end. That's fine until you get hit with a 2 hour delay and hungry kids. Recommended by friends, we went to the 2nd floor and ate here. Fantastic food (pasta really good), service quite quick and a great view of the runway. It is signposted but only at the lifts/stairs that get you there so we've missed it on previous visits. C'è ben poco da dire.... Mi limiterò ad elencare le cose accadute durante la cena, a voi i commenti. Arriviamo alle 21, sala piena, ci sediamo e dopo 15 minuti ordiniamo pizze e patatine. Le patatine arrivano relativamente presto . Erano state fritte di fretta perché alcune risultavano crude. Ok ci può stare... Alle 23, due ore dopo il nostro arrivo, chiedendo informazioni sulle pizze mi viene fatta una battuta come risposta... La pizza ai friarielli era fatta con friarielli in barattolo sott'olio..e al mio amico, che aveva ordinato mortadella, pistacchi e bufala, hanno portato un altra pizza perché probabilmente avevano finito gli ingredienti. In tutto questo, nelle due ore di attesa, nessuno si è minimamente degnato di venire al tavolo a chiedere scusa per il ritardo. Avrei capito. Alla richiesta di un altro boccale di birra, il cameriere ci porta un boccale riempito a metà... Ovviamente rimandato indietro. Alla richiesta dei dolci, il cameriere ci risponde che erano tutti finiti...e dopo 10 minuti, chiedendo nuovamente ad un altro cameriere, ci viene portato il carrello con tutti dolci all interno.
