Zio Sam Restaurant — Restaurant in Piano di Sorrento

What a lovely spot! Our tour guides took us to Sam’s place and initially we didn’t know what we were stumbling into. Our tour guides walked us into Sam’s farm and had us sample some beans and peas off the bushes - that was a first. We then walked across the street where we were greeted by Sam and some other very welcoming staff. They knew about my allergies in advance, which was lovely. We were greeted with champagne at the table! They asked if we wanted the preset menu, and we had no idea what that entailed, but we went along with it and said yes - and we were glad we did! They brought us LOTS of different appetizers; the calamari was my favorite. We ordered the sparkling red wine, also delicious. We were brought 2 different pastas, and then dessert. The food was wonderful, people were lovely, and view was incredible.

AND after all that food and wine, the preset menu was 40 euros per...

BEST MEAL IN ALL OF ITALY! We were feeling frustrated in not being able to find an authentic restaurant that wasn't flooded with tourists and finally we came across Zio Sam referred to us by many locals!

We started the evening with their speciality seafood platter appetizer which was a generous selection of fresh seafood cooked various ways.

We then had their seafood pasta dishes. Spaghetti Vongole cooked with a hearty portion of clams & a refreshing lemon sauce. And the Seafood Linguine Al Cartoccio - the freshest seafood pasta cooked with a red pasta sauce.

We finished the evening with their homemade desserts & digestive.

Highly recommend Zio Sam if you are staying in Sorrento or the Amalfi Coast. It is a beautiful family run business passionate about serving fresh Italian food...

We had our wedding reception dinner here this past summer and honestly I can't say enough good things about this place! Everyone there are super wonderful people who went out of their way to make the night a magical one.From the wedding cake with an adorable topper, to the heart shaped ravioli. Everything we ate tasted spectacular! We had packed favors for our guests, however our luggage never arrived. When we arrived for dinner they had the most beautiful candy flowers at all the seats, which was a really special surprise. We had planned out a menu with them through email, and it was a very smooth professional process. The place itself is stunning and the views at are sunset was the cherry on top!
