Came here to have some tasting. My husband is preparing for WSET 4, and we decided to visit this region to have a better impression about the area and the wine they produce. So keep in mind that we have been visiting a lot of wineries so we are able to compare experiences. It took FOREVER for the girl to bring the wine. She was extremely disorganized... forgot the spitter. Then was running around trying to find information about land and soil. Did not find this info. In general- no useful information for somebody who is interested in understanding wine profile and the region. Basically, the girl read the label while trying to managed her runny nose, and wearing LOTS of perfume (particularly "professional " for someone who suppose to lead wine tasting). We did not like the wine making style either. If Barolo is said to be a mixture of tar and roses, of the nose, this was mostly tar... Read moreOur family, travelling with another family of four stayed at Tenuta Caretta for two nights. The rooms were air conditioned and spacious, with comfortable beds and pillows. The sitting area included a sofa and chairs as well as a TV, though we didn't use it much. There were two balconies which overlooked a lovely valley and mountains in the distance. ||We were in the region in early July, which is low season - it was HOT! I think we may have even been the only people staying there. The breakfast (included in our room) was delicious and consisted of pastries, meats, cheese, yogurt and fresh fruit. The staff were kind and helpful.||I hope we go back someday and highly recommend this to people who are in the area to enjoy the natural beauty and the products of the region: wine, peaches and truffles. And food....
